Someone on AL's page requested Nilsson, "Everybody's Talkin". I felt compelled to point out that his parents were Swedes who lived in Brooklyn.  :)

Not terribly surprised. In yesterday's request thread for 79, there were a TON of songs that were from '78, including one poster that listed more than 20 of them.

The guy insisted that Nilsson's dad was Irish. When strangers on FB are involved, I tend to believe Wikipeidia.

BTW, I'll be elsewhere at 10 today, so take copious notes, kids.

St. Patrick's Day may be the only "holiday" that is commemorated by 10@10 every year.  It's
probably also my least favorite faux holiday.

Valentines, April Fool's Day, Tax Day. Earth Day, Pride Day... :)

But It's not a set I'll be heartbroken about having to miss today.  Tho' it'll be interesting to see how this new "Foghead requests RULE!" policy affects what tends to be a "the usual suspects" kinda set.

Still hasn't started yet at 10:09? Soul Asylum ain't Irish, are they?

Tuned in late, heard the end of Mumford and Sons (are they Irish or English?) and now we're hearing Soul Asylum's Runaway Train. Irish? They're from Minneapolis. (Although the guitar player's name is Murphy, so there's that.)

Still hasn't started, Violent Femmes now. Maybe she's futzing with a turntable for a fabulous rarity on LP....Nahhhh.

Finally! 10:17.
Van Morrison - Into the Mystic

Tasteful, but does not kook.

2. Corrs & Bono - When the Stars Go Blue
3. Pogues - Dirty Old Town

There was a movie clip in between those two, didn't recognize it. Oh and before the Corrs song, we were treated to Irish Greg counting to 10 in Gaelic.

The next quote ("too many Megans") appears to be from 30 Rock.

Speaking of rock, pretty good rocking for Sinead O'Connor - No Man's Woman.

More 30 Rock bits of them watching a St Paddy's Day Parade.

Thin Lizzy's Whiskey in the Jar was in there recently, and now we're hearing Country Mile by... Rory Gallagher?

Simpsons clip > Enya, Orinoco Flow

This gets my vote for songs we never need to hear again.

I did actually look, and save a recent year when it fell on the weekend, there's been a St. Patrick's Day set every year.
My curiosity has been piqued, so later I'll check the rest of those.

I've been feeling queasy all morning (and I don't have any "medicine" to calm my stomach),
and otherwise much crankier than usual.  I took notes, but didn't recognize a lot of today's
set, and I'm generally in a "fuck it" mood.  So no set list for now.

2. The Corrs w/Bono - When the Stars Go Blue
3. The Pogues - Dirty Old Town
4. Sinead O'Connor - No Man's Woman
5. Thin Lizzy - Whiskey in the Jar
6. Rory Gallagher - Country Mile
7. Enya - Orinoco Flow
8. Stiff Little Fingers - Alternative Ulster
9. The Strypes - Blue Collar Jane
10. Flogging Molly - Drunken Lullabies

Last year's for comparison:

Quote
/3/17/15 Tuesday!! All Irish for a Happy St Patrick's Day!!

 1.  Thin Lizzy- Whiskey In the Jar (B.O.S!)
 2.  Sinead O'Connor- The Emperor's New Clothes
 3.  Flogging Molly- Drunken Lullabies
 4.  U2- Gloria
 5.  Horslips- Dearg Doom
 6.  The Commitments- Mustang Sally
 7.  The Pogues-Dirty Old Town
 8.  Van Morrison- Being Green
 9.  Rory Gallagher- Country Mile
10. Stiff Little Fingers- Alternative Ulster

6 repeat songs from last year's plus 2 other repeat artists doing diff songs (Van & Sinead). And of course the oft-heard Enya. The Strypes (a Foghead request) being the only true newbie. So we broke our multiple-bustout streak, I guess.

Nos. 4 and 9 appear to be bust-outs.

The first three clips were too short and unintelligible for me to have any clue what they were.
After Thin Lizzy there was one from Waking Ned Devine, two from The Simpsons, and one
from 30 Rock.  I did not recognize the final clip either.
