ah, Missing Stefanis, "Destination No Doubt"

now i'm awake! canadian reggae!
-
BOS "Mickey Way ... the candy bar"
Aaack!! Rush! Heeeeeeeelp!
-
canadian reggae!
translation: "we incorporated Police-like guitars to get airplay because radio thought we were dinosaurs."
-
My '82 wish list today would include the soundtrack version of "Cat People" and Ray Parker Jr's "The Other Woman".
-
bos, easy breezy, joe jackson
-
BOS, Joe Jackson. Never get tired of this one. Does anyone else hear the old "Frogger" sound effects as a couple of the bleeps and bloops in here?
(And has Dave ever played "Pac-Man Fever" in its entirety?)

iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii'm a dinosaur. somebody's digging my bones....
-
It just now occurs to me that Joe Jackson can play a role in my presentation on artists and perceived sexual orientation. With "Real Men" I assumed JJ was gay for years, and when he sang here, "You / Can dress in pink and blue just like a child," I assumed from the boy/girl colors chosen that he was hedging his bets.
My name is Joe, and I overthink things.

is that what that is? i don't think it's frogger...i mean, i hear what you're saying, but the effect in the song sounds too clean for frogger. frogger had more mid-range...
-
Back in high school I was hanging out with some friends one day when one of them (a girl) mentioned what she'd be wearing to some function or other. "I'll wear..."
Before she could finish, DeMurie blurts out: "...Pink and blue? Just like a child?"
You had to be there.

Indeed, it's probably the electronic drums of the period, but now I can't stop thinking about Frogger and my Atari 2600. They're coming back as retro and I'm sorry I gave it away.

me, too. but i'm sorry because it's the only video game system i mastered. so simple: a joystick and a button. play for hours. it would take me weeks to figure out how to operate a playstation.

April 14 - 17. I can't fly anyone there but I'll spring for EMP admission for anyone who wants to see my presentation. (If sufficiently few take me up on the offer, that is.)
-

I tried Googling that.
Results 1 - 10 of about 643,000 for white girl shoulder dance. (0.29 seconds)

Mmmmm... Psychedelic Supper!
Other radio stations ran that feature in the afternoon and called it the Psychedelic Psix-Pack. K-Rock in NYC was of of 'em. Then somebody complained that it "promoted drugs" and slowly the feature disappeared from stations all around the country.

I missed the Frogger SFX. I've been in and out with this set so also missed Stand or Fall. But BOS goes to Talk Talk...

No psychic ability necessary: Dave began by saying it was a "KFOG 1982 Set", which ALWAYS means "Rock This Town" and the Rodney Dangerfield clip. Surprised we didn't hear the format-switch clip too.
-

Yeah! We want the Pole Cats!

video games in songs must be a theme today. derek webster just said the sound at the end of jean clarke's (?), 'was that all it was?' sounded like it was from space invaders.
-
"smooth FM night creatures"? Guess that's us!
Jean Cairn, "Was that All it Was?" And he mentioned that the synthesizers sounded like Space Invaders! There ARE. NO. COINCIDENCES.
-
OMFG!! Ree-Ree, "Willing to Forgive"
"I smelled her CHEAP perfume - ha! - musta come from you!"

i don't understand why that song is so popular. it would be almost bearable were it not for the recorder solo.

That's cause they so rone-ry.
