Comes off as disco here, but live, Shakedown could be one of their funkier workouts, particularly if Phil was really cookin' the bassline. They never played this often enough, imo.

Another case of disco pandering that fits in a 78 set would be Miss You. Yeah, it's a great song, but that's a revisionist POV. At the time they took a lot of grief for caving in to the disco trend. As Gaz said, plenty of pandering to go around.

I think in the final analysis I do prefer the Jefferson Starship to the Jefferson Airplane, and the deciding factor is the quality of the background vocals.
