Will our '90s-less streak continue?
ETA: it's '74! yay!
-
Will our '90s-less streak continue?
Dunno, but these ads warning people about food poisoning from improperly stored leftovers is kinda getting on my nerves.

'74! Lets hope these leftovers were properly stored.
Doobs ripping themselves off to start.
-
1974 - TOTHK Doobie Brothers "Eyes of Silver"
-
LN1 and WOS1 Buckwheat Crapton. Mainline Florida? Otay!
actually, he's more of a mainline Florida ofay.
-
Eric Clapton "Mainline Florida"
-
BOS1 EJ, totally bitchin'. One of his that I truly never tire of.
-
Elton John "The Bitch Is Back"
-
VHM Tull, skating away on skates made of (heavy) metal, yo.
-
VHM Tull, skating away on skates made of (heavy) metal, yo.

Ditto here.

From skating to sailing: BOS2 Mr Palmer with a classic.
-
Robert Palmer - the full medley?
"Sailin' Shoes/Hey Julia/Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley"

To snorting. Don't that cocaine tree look fine?
(Lowell George (who wrote this) never was much for hiding his vices.)
Robert Palmer - the full medley?
It sure seems so! Hey Julia!
-
Robert Palmer - the full medley?
appears so. kudos to whoever.
-
If Mick can't rock me, Keef will. BOS3 Stones and a thousand lips ah would love to taste.
-
Stones "If You Can't Rock Me"
-
Stones "If You Can't Rock Me"
Keith came off the nod long enough come up with another patented guitar riff (although I think Charlie's drumming on this is pretty killer, too.) The medley of IYCRM and Get Off My Cloud on Love You Live always rocked my world.
-
VHM cereal medley.
LN2 Wet Willie. Actually a wet willie beats a dry one any day.
-
Commercials medley into Wet Willie "Keep On Smilin'"
-
Lou Reed "Sweet Jane"
-
another lengthy one: Sweet Lou, live.
-
BOS 1 Tull, BOS 2, Lou Reed. VHM+ to most everything else, except for the Doobies.
-
Woo Hoo! BOS4, proxies of Gaz and Geoff "Ride the Tiger"
-
Jefferson Starship "Ride The Tiger"
-
Jefferson Starship "Ride The Tiger"
Such a silly song... (IMHO)
-
Economy news into BTO "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet"
-
Big BOS from me: Aint Seen Nothing Yet -- Woo Hoo!!
-
Economic situation getting worse --> "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet". Heh.
A very enjoyable set. Nothing we haven't heard before, of course, but yet it seemed better-chosen than your typical DC '74 excursion. The "Oldies 103.7 factor" was low. They're mining old Morey setlists to be sure.
-
I would like to get something else off BTO's Not Fragile - say, "Not Fragile" or "Secondhand" or "Rock Is My Life, This Is My Song."
-
Whenever I hear these spots for "Under the Dome", I wanna scream that old South Park line: "The Simpsons did it first!!"
-
Lou Reed edges out Robert Palmer by two votes for BOS, sez Renee.
-
So was the Stones song a bustout? Not in the Shraytabase, and I don't turn it up in a search of this board. Did AL ever play it? I'm leaning toward that for my BOS.
Btw, here's that medley I mentioned earlier. No actual video, just a shot of the album cover so no need to watch, just listen:

Mick Taylor has some TASTY licks on that one. I esp love the one after Mick J sings "Now who's that black girl in the bright blue hair, oh yeah"

VHM Tull, skating away on skates made of (heavy) metal, yo.
Heavy metal? Perhaps -- just perhaps -- the Aqualung album might be considered heavy metal,
but I would be hard-pressed to classify Jethro Tull as a heavy metal band, and certainly not
this song, which is fairly lightweight.
-
BOS Jethro Tull -- don't hear them enough any more these days...
I totally agree. Like with other major artists, AL was starting to play deeper into their catalog,
with songs like Cross-Eyed Mary, Nothing Is Easy, and Reasons For Waiting. After looking into
it, I was surprised to discover that this is the first Tull song since September 14, 2011! That's
21 months of no Tull.
We could probably generate a huge list of artists that we should hear more of... my personal
pick would be Procol Harum. They had a number of FM radio "hits," but the only two that ever
get played are A Whiter Shade of Pale and Conquistador.

AL played it on 27-Mar-12.

Mike's quip referred to Jethro Tull winning the first Grammy in the Hard Rock/Metal category in 1988. They beat out Metallica. Eyes are still rolling to this day.

OIC. Although the term "hard rock" covers a lot of ground, and arguably Tull qualifies. Maybe
they thought that an explicit "heavy metal" category would be too narrow.

Certainly much of Tull's work is mellow, but having seen "Locomotive Breath" live back in the day, it doesn't get a lot heavier than that.
