as noted previously, this is "KFOG Ditch Day with Renee" at some ski resort, so presumably Rosalie will be sitting in... whether she actually does 10@10 too or whether we get a RR "classic" (or a pre-recorded new set) remains to be seen.
Renee's still in studio at 10am? shoudn't she be on the road by now?
1980: Hungry Broooooce to start. A nice TOTHK -- VHM Flo & Eddie on backing vo.
-
WTF - I hear Renee! :o
Still don't know the year yet... Greg said it was a sad year for music.
At least we know for sure a Bowie song will be played... :P
-
TOTHK Springsteen and his hungry heart - 1980

well, I guess it'll either be "Fashion" or "Scary Monsters" or "Ashes to Ashes".
sad = John Lennon.

in re: John Lennon, I'm guessing

VHM John -- "Watching the Wheels", despite overexposure, still moves me.
-
John Lennon "Watching The Wheels" which charted in 1981

A decent song, but as usual, when given an album with many potential deep cuts (Sherry Darling would have been a great TOTHK) they go for the hit, that we've heard plenty. Sigh.
VHM Bruce and John, watching his wheels.
Any bets as to whether we get a cut from Emotional Rescue, since the Stones are on everyone's lips these days.
-
Blondie "Call Me"
-
John Lennon "Watching The Wheels" which charted in 1981
I won't quibble too much here, as the LP came out in Dec and virtually everything on it got major airplay that month.
OTOH: uber-uber-LN "Call Me".

OMG: Jonah Lewie, "Kitchen at Parties" -- BOS1 and probably the Rarity of the Day.
Safe to say this is a bustout. I don't know that I've ever heard it before this.

Since this was never played on KFOG, am I to assume this is Live 105 material?

I dunno if Live 105 has played it since they started beefing up on "classic alt" recently, but it was popular on many adventurous album-rock stations at the time, along with the usual New Wave-y suspects (Nick Lowe, Ian Gomm, Police etc)
-
proxy of shray, "Mirrah inna Bahf-room" -- hardly rare, as Dave played it many times.
-
The English Beat "Mirror in the Bathroom"

The English Beat "Mirror in the Bathroom"

Ahhh, I did not know that.
Ack, Collective Yawn! Run away!

BOS The Kings. THIS is why I listen to 10@10. I really like hearing a few new-to-me songs that are great or emblematic of a time. Sometimes, I'll hear something that was only a dim memory drifting from a neighbor's car in a driveway 30 years ago and that's a real treat.

A couple of times in the '80s I heard someone say "you'll always find
me in the kitchen at parties" in a sing-song voice, and I assumed it was
from a song. And lo, twenty-five years later, here it is, busting out
on 10@10. But it's a pretty weak New Wave tune.
The Seger song is also a bustout, and was nice to hear.
Otherwise it was the usual collection of over-played "hits" that have all
seen multiple appearances on 10@10, including The Kings thing, which is
also a frequent flyer on KFOG's Weekend Salute at 5pm on Fridays.
Just another pedestrian effort. Blah. Sadly, with sets like this, I am not
very sorry that the Saturday morning marathon was eliminated. Listening
to five in a row like this would be a marathon, and not in a good way.
Lately I've been listening to the Saturday morning Beatles (yeah!) on 103.7.
-
I don't listen to KFOG other than 10@10 so The Kings were NTM. Sorta like your "always in the kitchen" experience but reversed. :-)
