Title: The Peak, week of 2/6/12
Post by: RGMike on February 06, 2012, 07:36:27 AM
Mon 2/6/12: 1994

eek: Crash Test Dummies, Radiohead, Counting Crows, Tori Amos, Alice in Chains, Beck, Nirvana. An AL-on-autopilot 'trina-fest.  Aqua sea-foam shame indeed.

WOS Aerosmith's "Deuces Are Wild", even tho' it's an ATBB.

Bjork sjucks.

Tue 2/7/12: (Jan of) 1983

Stray Cats, TFF, Petty, Scandal, JJ, Pretenders.  BOS the Polecats still-delightful "Make a Circuit". Ric Ocasek's "Something to Grab For" is an ATBB, but that doesn't make it good.

OMGWTFLOL: uber-BOS2FRA Neil Young's electro-reboot of "Mr Soul"!

Kinks, Beatles, Velvelettes (BOS), Stones (BOS2), Otis (BOS3), Animals, BBs, Pretty Things, Beau Brummels, the 'oo, Sam Cooke (BOS4).

This one went to 11. Worth a gander on the PM replay, chilluns.

Thur 2/9/12: 1989

very AL-ish: Chris Rea, Lou Reed, FYC (uber-LN-in-perpetuity), Elvis C, the 'nats, Roy Orbison.

But I'll BOS the Dead Milkmen's "Punk Rock Girl" and (yes) I'm still a sap for "Living Years".

The Fixx's attempted comeback, "Driven Out" is an ATBB, methinks. Surprised DC hasn't made AL play this one.

Nilsson, Yes, JJ Cale to start.

Here's what Al wants do: "Let's Stay Togethah"

And Rob stays in Oldies 103.7 territory for Neil's "Heart of Gold"

BOS1 an always-welcome AL fave: Ms King's "Sweet Seasons"

uber-LN: "Bang a Gong". Dirty and sweet, my ass.

BOS2 George Carlin on suggestive TV commercials; VHM Rod in (your) Faces.

BOS3 Nils Lof-Grin, "White Lies"

Is "Stairway to Heaven" an uber-LN or a "classic" you hardly ever hear anymore? Discuss!  Nice stereo separation that you really miss unless you're wearing headphones.
