Mon 1/30/12: Great Gee-tar Riffs!
"Funk 49" -- an unsurprising TOTHK.
"Layla" -- an even less -surprising LN1
The Drive and their theme sets -- LAWD! -- they a caution! Doobs in the grove; VHM in a Kinks-ian groove.
This set needs coolin' -- and baby I'm not foolin'.
CCR, "Born on the Bayou"? Really?
least-surprising: "Satisfaction". Least-welcome: Petty.
Most-welcome (and BOS): George, "What is Life", one I never tire of.
uber-LN2: "Sweet Emotion"
James Gang - Funk 49
Derek & The Dominoes - Layla
Doobie Brothers - China Grove
Van Halen - Eruption/You Really Got Me
Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love
CCR - Born on the Bayou

Tom Petty - Running Down a Dream
George Harrison - What Is Life
Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion

Tue 1/31/12: 1970
CCR fire up the ol' dinosaur victrola; Mr Stills loves the one he's with, using a fisting glove. er, wha?
BOS1 Tull, the teachah (without the preachah).
uber-LN (LN Hall of Fame): "Lola". Seriously, it seems to appear in every 1970 set The Drive and the Sound do, and of course AL played it last week too.
Gordo can read minds! Percy got a woman stay drunk all the time.
always a BOS2 the Guess Who's "Share the Land"; BOS3 Doors, "Peace Frog"

Wed 2/1/12: 1976
didn't Bob just do '76? -- seems to be his most-frequented year. WOS1 Aerosmith.
LN1: Boz shuffles off to Lido.
the Manfreds arrive, with their fingers in the cake: at least it's "Spirit in the Night" and not "BBTL".
LN2: ELO. But Frampton's live "Something's Happening" is a welcome rarity, even if Rob played it last week. BOS.
Doobs are on the streets, and so is Seger. But Macca's at the door with WOS2.
Not as LN as one of the "hits" but still kinda: "Eagles, "Victim of Love".
uber-LN3: Boston
Aerosmith - Back In The Saddle

I like this one. Especially LZ, GW, Doors, and EC. I requested that Doors suite when the FOG went to '70 about a week ago. That first Clapton album is a good one, too.

Thur 2/2/12: 1982
hoping we might get "Take Off"
instant WOS1: Asia in heat.
Phunky Phil plays with some policeman's balls.
LNs to 2 Toms: Tutone and Petty.
Everybody wants you. But I don't want Billy Squier.
uber-LN3: "I Melt With You" -- an iconic tune, emblematic of a moment in time when "Rock of the '80s" formats were poaching listeners from AOR but still this amazingly popular "ROT'80s" song couldn't manage to make the Pop Top 40. (I remember being outraged by that in 1982). But at this point I never need hear it again.
BOS Judas effin' Priest. DUUUDE!!
a little ditty 'bout JCM & Diane. I still don't know anyione who ever wore "Bobby Brooks"
LN4: "Tainted Love"; see LN3 above and leave out the "couldn't manage to make the Pop Top 40" part.

Tommy Tutone - 867-5309 (Jenny)
Tom Petty - You Got Lucky

Fri 2/3/12: 1969
what's the over/under on LNs from Bob in a '69 set? and can an LN also be a VHM? 'cause "Suspicious Minds" is kinda unnecessary, even tho' it's one of the great pop singles of all time.
Mick shares a cherry soda with Mistah Jimmy, a man did he look pretty ill. VHM.
Mr Starr's feets can't fail him now, y'alls.
Cream go down to da crossroads; I'm getting snoozy.
LN2: the 'oo; BOS Zep.
LNs 3 & 4: CCR & Bowie.
