Mon 1/23/12: (Jan of) 1988
Squeeze, George, Sting, Dead, New Order... pretty meh.
WOS Yes, even tho'"Shoot High Aim Low" is an ATBB.
the great Love & Rockets revival continues: "No New Tale".
BOS Broooce, "One Step Up"
Things are the same all over: INXS makes an appearance. Shocking!
XHMFRA: Robbie Robertson "Sweet Fire of Love" -- nice to hear something other than "...Crazy River"
-
Tue 1/24/12: (January of) 1976
Wow: Dylan, "One More Cup of Coffee", Joni kissin' on Main St, Patti Smith's amazing "Redondo Beach" (uber-BOSFRA) and EJ feels like a bullet.
OMGWTF: Burning Spear's "Marcus Garvey" gets BOSFRA2. But "Bohemian Rahpsody" gets uber-LN-of-all-time.
BOSFRA3: Kinks, "No More Looking back" Gotta catch this one on the replay tonite, this was stellar (Queen notwithstanding) -- the kinda set AL *used* to do.

Just tuned in to the replay: a Frampton live track that wasn't one of the singles is always a treat.
I hadn't heard EJ's "Bullet on the Gun of Robert Ford" in ages -- belated BOS, it's much better than I remembered it; ditto "Redondo Beach" and the Burning Spear tune. Given that AL's MLK set is in a category of its own, this is the best 10@10 I've heard all month. Stellar, really.

Wed 1/25/12: 1993
Pearl Jam, 10KManiacs, Spin Docs, Duran2, Nirvana.... meh.
cute segue: from Mick's "Don't Tear Me Up" to Keef's "Eileen" (which is an ATBB, methinks, as is "Love U More" by Sunscreem).
LN: REM, "Man on the Moon"
WOS: Black Crowes, even if "Sometimes Salvation" is a relative rarity.

Thur 1/26/12: 1982
BOS Nick Lowe's delightful J-5 pastiche "Let Me Kiss ya"; VHM Lindsey Buckingham.
Whole lotta LNs: Soft Cell, Police, Joan Jett, J Geils, Genesis.
Good DAY, eh? uber-BOS the Mckenzie Bros with Geddy Lee, takin' off. Mr Lee's best vocal, easily. Beauty, eh?

Fri 1/27/12: (January of) 1968
VHM "Shes's a Rainbow"; BOS Etta james' always fantabulous "Tell Mama"
LN1 & 2: Cream in the sunshine and Small Faces in the park
OMGWTFLOL: a big BOS2 the Monkees' "What Am I Doin' hangin' 'Round?" -- a welcome ATBB.
Girls Girls Girls: VHM Ree-Ree; BOS3 the 'oo, "Mary Anne With Shaky Hands"; BOS4 Floyd, "See Emily Play"
VHM the Human Beinz.
BOS5 "Hello Goodbye" -- as I've mentioned many times I associate this song with Xmas since it was #1 for the entire month of December in NYC.
and we "go to 11" with John Fred -- BOS6.

Another fine excursion worth catching on the PM replay.
