Bless You, my son. There are more "minus 1" songs on that thread than I know what to do with. "Boys of Summer"? Seriously?
And BTW, Rob played "Kayleigh" on The Peak last week and sure enuf there were Peak-heads (or whatever they call themselves) gushing over how it was the best song evah.

Someone suggested "We Are the World". Uncle!!

Just another manic cliche...
-
Some guy did a cover of "Manic Monday" where he was "kissin' Tarantino" instead of "kissin' Valentino". Pretty funny. Early VHM Bangles.
-
well, Mr Ferry was a given. VHM anyway.
-
There's that sexy voice again!
-
Tuned in but can't remember where my head was in 85.

Great video! Gotta love the smoke machines.
-
"and dreaming I'm adopted"? "and dreaming I'm a doctor"? TFF would have pleased me had this not been on AT40 yesterday
-

Had to get remedial help going back to 85. Night Shift and Who's Zoomin Who?. The other seems like so much dreck. Seagulls, tears, Fears, aaarrrgghhhhhhhh.

OK, these Pee-Wee clips need to be retired for a while.

I've always heard (and sung), "and dream that I'm adopted".

Kiss me on the 'Trina.

Oh, "Who's Zoomin' Who?" would be fun!

you obviously need to scold annalisa for not checking the at40 replay to be sure there's no overlap.

actually the one I'm talking about is in suburban NYC. Their 10@10 is the best one after AL's -- theirs are month-specific.

Limitless was loads of fun. Great visuals and highly entertaining.
VHM: Nick Lowe
-
Mr Lowe meets Mr Lewis. To ill effect.
-
I did not make my normal ministry request.... maybe she'll play it. not holding my breath. we all need to hear ALL DAY (and get our protest gear out).

I knew the bride...man, this song is haunting us lately.

This set is in dire need of a "haaaaaay" moment.

rare Chilton, tho' not my fave of his ouvre.

As far as solo stuff goes, I loved "Bangkok". This one could've used better production.

seriously.
this is Alex Chilton? that's about the only thing saving us from its Twelve Bar Blues blah-ness.
And it's another example of Chilton's chameleon singing. He knew how to pick a style when needed:
- the gruff blues man for Box Tops,
- the top-of-his-register pop urgency for Big Star
- the talking-singing easiness here in this bayou blooze.

some Foghead heads just exploded -- "what IS this??" AL posted it on FB the other day, and she's def played it on 10@10 before.
-
I never, ever, ever have to hear this A-ha song again. Or see the video. The quintessential over-exposed 80s hit.
-
I know we've been doing '85 every 3 weeks, but all these clips today seem like we just heard 'em.
yeesh, we just heard A-ha recently too. -- what SG just said!
-
My foggy head is exploding with this noise.
Cranky? Heck yeah.
-
Roanna: she plays crazy-hot very well.
BOS2 A-ha
BOS1 to Bryan Ferry, of course.

Here's "Bangkok" by Alex Chilton. Rockin' tune, but man, did he take geography lessons from Kim Wilde?

1. The Bangles - Manic Monday

Not surprised that a large percentage of the FB fogheads don't get Tom Waits. But I am extremely tickled to see that, in her attempting to reach detente with the multitude, AL compared liking Waits to liking goat cheese. :D
