"When Black Friday comes..." -- a debt-ceiling reference, Bob?
I've never quite understood ZZT's mis-pronunciation of "tush" -- was it on purpose? did they not know any better? do people in Texas actually say it that way?
ooo... BOS "Wildfire". Nice to see this one getting some love from Bob; hard-core Drive listeners presumably consider it a HFH. Gorgeous.
(ETA: went to the Drive instant chat board -- sure enuf the first comment on "Wildfire" was "whatthehell is this crap??"
Strange Madge -- ick!
Macca's playing Wrigley ths week, so presumably we'll get some Wings.
OMFG: the alternate take of "Memo From Turner" from the Stones' outtakes'n'rarities LP, Metamorphosis. can't remember the last time I heard this on the radio.
EJ finds phreedom in Philly. Sweet chase a fox on the run. BOS2.
BadCo's good lovin's gone bad(co).
Proxy of shray: "Stranglehold". VHM "Monday Morning" -- so we got Mac but not Macca.

maybe they were trying to say the Yiddish "tuchus" and had a Michele Bachmann moment?? Two of the three ZZToppers do resemble orthodox Jews.. hmmm..
(remember when the Simspons went to NYC and Bart shouted out to the Hasidim "Hey , ZZ Top! You guys rock!" -- That ep has since been pulled from syndication b/c of the scenes with the World Trade Center.)

I posted a comment on the Drive chat board (where I call myself Mike-in-SF) and someone there said "wow, you get to listen to 10@10 at 8am!" or something, so I mentioned being a 10@10 geek and hipped them to The Peak and KFOG. They were rather blown away by AL's '77 setlist from Friday. They do some sorta weird predict-what-Bob-will-play game every morning and they looked at AL's '77 choices and said "we wouldn't've guessed ANY of these!" But they also saw all the '90s sets and said "yuck!! -- who wants to hear that??"

Jimi's on the "Wing" -- and so are the fab four, winging their way to the USSR.
Marvin's listening to fruit again. Well, he did have 9 gay siblings.

always a BOS2 for "Classical Gas".
Sly's gonna add some bottoms! He should talk to Marvin's siblings.
I love her valleri. In fact, it's the most beautiful valleri I've ever seen. BOS3 the pre-fab four. (oo! the "cold ending" version!)

no expectations. Fogerty wants in; Knopfler & Sting want their MTV... and they get it -- uncensored, to boot.
JCM's in a small town -- but that "LA doll" didn't care much for it. Guess she's waiting for Crapton. And she was.
WSOS Bryan Adams (Worst Skin of Set). VHM TFF.
Dream Academy make it easy on theyself.
WOS Rush, making "Big Money". There's a sucker born every minute.
WOS2 Thorogood. There's a drinker born every minute.

Dire Straits - Money For Nothing
John Mellencamp - Small Town
Eric Clapton - She's Waiting
Talking Heads - And She Was

I'm thinking Bob will play one of his "goofy" '76 tracks, like "5th of Beethoven" or "Afternoon Delight".
But Queen's "Somebody to Love" is a nice start. VHM.
BOS1 Neil Tennant Al Stewart, in the year of the cahhhht.
Pardon me, my feelings are showin': What's on my mind is to WOS Kansas.
TP breaks down. Check out Grace Jones' cover of the song:

ABB ride at midnite; Santana takes his "hose" to Peter Green.
Beatles got a feeling everybody had a wet dream... talk about fire and rain!
Casey Jones got trouble ahead and a troubled behind. Prep H will clear that right up, CJ.
Van sez it's a marvelous night for a 'trina.
OMGWTFLOL: Frijid Pink's cover of "House of the Rising Sun"!! BOSFRA and this nearly beats the Sinceros for Rarity of the Week. And it occurs to me that since The Drive isn't owned by Bonneville anymore, Bob has been playing more rarities and out-of-format songs in his sets.
Crapton causes talk & suspicion and gives an exhibition; Chicago makes me smile -- VHM, and Bob plays some hybrid version -- not the full "Ballet for a Girl..." but not the 45 either.
BOS2 the Doors, with they eyes on the road, they hands upon da whee-ul.
Allman Brothers - Midnight Rider
Santana - Black Magic Woman
Beatles - I've Got a Feeling
James Taylor - Fire and Rain
Grateful Dead - Casey Jones
Van Morrison - Moondance
Frijid Pink - House of the Rising Son
Eric Clapton - After Midnight
Chicago - Make Me Smile
Doors - Road House Blues
Monday: 10 Macca tunes in honor of his Wrigley Field show.
