"Overkill" indeed: "Come Dancing", "Our House", "Electric Ave" -- it's a 'trinafest, I tells ya!
And It gets worse: "Every Breath You Take" and "The Walls Come Down". Rob hasn't been this yeesh-worthy in quite a while.

I'm so glad Jill S kissed a girl before Katy Perry did. And I'm ever gladder I missed Live's "Lightning Crashes". Radiohead plant fake plastic shrubbery.
Black Crowes "Wiser Time" is a rarity if not a bustout. But it's still, y'know... the Black Crowes.
Better's "Good" is OK; always a BOS for Mr Sweet's "Sick of Myself".
Actually, Mr Petty, you're not "King". of anything.
Soul Asylum's "Misery" is also in the rarity/bustout column.
eeek: Corrective Soles.

I liked Live. I never saw them .. live, but I recall Barry Walters, who used to write for the Ex, saying they should be headed for superstardom. Oh well.

I think he said that... not because he thought they were good but because he thought they were good at the sorta big ponderous arena-rock crap that mainstream radio eats up with a spoon. ;)
Whatever happened to Mr Walters? One of the first openly-gay writers in a major newspaper, iirc. He liked Kylie Minogue before Kylie Minogue was cool.
VHM REM.

don't know, but a former colleague of his told me that he wasn't as prolific as his fans (or his mgt?) would have liked. Perhaps he just lost interest in covering crap arena rock acts. ;) I liked reading him.
