This makes AL's 99 excursion seem like the better choice.

Lighten the hell up baby, I'm in love with you, yelps Robt Plant.  I never got this song Tall Cool One , the quoting of several Zep songs, etc.

The sampling of the Zep tunes was the whole reason for the song, imo. That's what got it on the radio.

Indeed. And it was controversial amongst Zep diehards. "Sacrilege!"

6/18 - 1988
-------------------------------
U2 - Desire
Escape Club - Wild Wild West
Yes - Rhythm of Love
Keith Richards - Take It So Hard
Lita Ford/Ozzy - Close My Eyes Forever
Talking Heads - Nothing But Flowers
Robert Plant - Tall Cool One
INXS - New Sensation
Rod Stewart - Forever Young
Morrisey - Suedehead

the Lita Ford/Ozzy tune was NTM.  I kinda wish it stayed that way forever...!  :)

But an ATBB for sure. And hey, Top Ten singles about suicide are fairly rare ;)

.... because their audience tends to dwindle..?  (I can't believe I wrote that.)
