BOS Rachmaninoff

Bwahahaha!

per Wiki:

Quote
The verse borrows very heavily from the second movement (Adagio Sostenuto) of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Opus 18, which Carmen believed was in the public domain. Having found it was not, only after the record had been issued, Carmen had to come to an agreement with the Rachmaninoff estate. Early versions, therefore, only give writing credits to Carmen, but later versions also credit Rachmaninoff.

More plagiarism: Seger rips off Frankie Miller's "Ain't Got No Money" on "Fire Down Below" -- and he would record "Ain't Got No..." on his next LP as a payback.

VHM Iggles, "Victim of Love"

damn, that means JJ's still MIA ("FD" is '70s, not '60s, so somebody's subbing)-- he hasn't been in his usual slots for 2 weeks now. Wonder what's up?

beat me to it.  Was just gonna say that Mercury's problem was probably that too many people found him somebody to love.

Still a great song tho'.

ETA:  That download site that Alicat mentioned a couple of months ago on the music acquisitions thread has the entire Queen catalog.  I only had NatO & DatR in my collection, but now I have added all the rest of their first 8 albums, up to & including The Game, for free!

Have fun at 10:00, I'll be in the car.
