Londing Calling -- Clash -- the guitar riff is scary, sounds like troops advancing.
Then Elephant Man movie clips were played. Somewhere a child cried.
Springsteen Ramrod -- not familiar w this one. therefore it seems rare. and therefore someone should give it a BOSFRA.
Martha & The Muffins Echo Beach -- this appeared recently somewhere else, didn't it? She has that affected English pronunciation thing that was sometimes popular w new wavey singers.
Then Airplane movie clips were played. Somewhere a mid-40s dude started quoting his favorite lines, like "Joey, do you like movies about gladiators?"

a big early-alt-radio/"turntable hit" in NYC for sure. Love that one. Always sounded like Blondie meets the Pretenders. They later re-invented themselves as "M + M" with a great song called "Black Stations/White Stations".

and Broooce's "Ramrod" is a deep track from The River. It's also his 2nd song named after a NYC gay bar ("Badlands" is the other).

many good memories of The English Beat. Saw them in Concert in 83? REM opened!
Dave Wakeling lives in the Bay Area doesn't he? Seems to make many appearances at local street fairs, the Redwood Theater, etc., and such. Went to Vegas a few years back, stayed at Mandalay Bay. Dave Wakeling and his band were there as the entertainment for some convention, so we got to hear his sound check mini-concert at the pool's outdoor stage.
Tears of a Clown is fun, and he has one great voice!
