So far we have achieved heaviosity -- to quote Woody Allen in Annie Hall -- with this set.
Big Old Jet Airliner took off, then UFO was too hot to handle, and now Bill Withers implies that it's a lovely ddaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

Some of funkiest Scots around, the Atlanta Rythym Section, are so into you, man. pass the haggis, bro.
Iggy is lusty for life and some lotion.
BOS2 Peg
I've seen your picture,
your name in light above it!

I'd put Teenage Fanclub up for that title, personally. But to each their own.

oops, I was trying to be a little flip here. :) Nazareth are def funkier than the Bay City Rollers (my fifth grade BCRs appreciation phase notwithstanding).
I don't know much Teenage Fanclub, but I'd put Arab Strap and Belle & Sebastian above BCRs, too. And Simple Minds, too.

I was gonna mention Ned's Atomic Dustbin (since they did a cover of "S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night") but they're Brits not Scots. (they did have one of the great album titles: God Fodder)

Jet Airliner - Steve Miller Band
Too Hot to Handle - UFO
Lovely Day - Bill Withers
So Into You - Atlanta Rhythm Section
Lust for Life - Iggy Pop
Peg - Steely Dan
Just Remember I Love You - Firefall
Teenage Lobotomy - The Ramones
Don't Stop - Fleetwood Mac
Two Out of Three Ain't Bad - Meatloaf
impressive, varied set, esp the Withers, Ramones and MeatLoaf (the first 2 woulda been Morey bustouts, methinks, and the ML has only appeared once from Dave iirc)

No F**king Way!
I missed Teenage Lobotomy!?!?! ARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHH
I can recite the lyrics by heart to this day, even though my LP version of Rocket To Russia is long gone by now.
Lobotomy!!!
Lobotomy!!!
Lobotomy!!!
Lobotomy!!!
DDT did a job on me
now I am a real sickee
guess I'll have to break the news
that I got no mind to lose
all the girls are in love with me
I'm a teenage loboto MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Slugs and snails are after me
DDT keeps me happy
Now I guess I'll have to tell 'em
That I got no cerebellum*
gonna get my PhD.
I'm a teenage loboto MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
*"have to tell 'um = cerebellum" -> another of the all-time great R'n R couplets, imho.

yes, this set is awesome. I'm hearing it for the second time today.
The way Jet Airliner starts is one of the great rock intros, methinks. The space-agey warbly synths, and then the crunchy Steve Miller guitar kicks in. Then it's just yer basic 12 bar blues, but it's such a sing-along fave. (btw, for those keeping track, they reverse-masked the word "shit", as in ...funky >tish< gong down in the city...)
UFO sounded too good, I have to say. Great riff, and a decent candidate for the music you want played as you walk up to plate.
I love loave luff lurv Lovely Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. feel-good.
even ARS and Iggy sounded decent, sometimes they seem overplayed for me..
Peg is another all-time fave. I remember borrowing the Aja LP from the Webster NY public library back in 78. good times.
Firefall was nice AM gold for me, but sorta paled after the Iggster and Pegster.
when you see the Ramones typed out (thanks Shray) you realize just how awesome that rock song is.
Don't Stop always makes me think of the Clinton Years. good branding.
After Meatlof, Larry said "admit it, if you were in school at a dance when that song was playing you were either the guy copping a feel or you were the feelee. you know what I'm talking about." Excellent, Larry! You're the man.
