I hope it's older than 1990.
"I Love LA" kicks off...with a big nasty redhead at my side.
-
It's a theme set--for the birthday of KSWD, which launched a year ago.
-

"I Love LA" is playing... there's a post on their message board that says today is the station's anniversary; this could be some sort of theme set.

Of all things that I find hard to believe about my Db, perhaps the hardest to accept is that this song is NOT in there. I swear, SWEAR, we've heard Dave play this in the past 5 yrs.

You sure you're not mixing it up with It's Money That Matters? Although I vaguely recall hearing it once, too. Long time ago.

Apparently the Newman and U2 were the first 2 songs they played when the Sound debuted.

"It's Money That Matters" is a staple of the Tax Day set (presumably we're getting one next Wed.)
-
was that Little River Band, Happy Anniversary baby?
noice
-
So what does the Fixx have to do with 1 year anniversary?
-oh - one thing -

What I mostly could swear I recall is that on more than one occasion Mike & I have riffed on the "big nasty redhead".
-
Make no mistake, One is one of my fave U2 songs, but major bad form for playing two songs by the same band in one set.

now we get U2's One? is it that easy to fit songs into this one year anniversary theme?
then how about
One by Three Dog Night
One Bad Apple by the Osmonds
etc..?

"Do I ask too much? More than a lot"...that you don't do this to your listeners? A 10-song artist tribute set is one thing, and a surprise twin-spin is okay once in a while, but this is irritating.

That rings a bell with me too -- tho' I'm positive Bob and Ginger have each played the song.

Ah, therein may lie the key. It's rare that I can remember what songs I've heard on which 10@10 other than what's in the DB.

Well if nothing else, Thorogood's "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" will make this a particularly lengthy set.
VHM from me anyway.

seemed like a pretty cool set -- as birthday sets go, it beats hearing "Rock This Town" and the KFOG format switch ;)

Yeah, but ask the Angelenos how they feel about it in 10 years or so. :)

LOL! Based on The Sound's ratings, they'll be lucky to be on the air 2 years from now.
