Bob in the '80s: not a great way to start the week. And I have a 10:00 meeting so i'll miss whatever Dave has in store.
Winwood to start -- sadly, the delights of "Valerie" have been obscured by that awful dance record that samples the phrase "call on me" over and over (and over and over).
-
What sounds like a different mix of Crock o'Siegels "I Ran".
-
Cheeze fer breakfast! BOS Billy Squier, "Everybody Wants You".
-
Bob goes for a Dave staple: "Avalon". VHM.
-
I've always found CSN's "Southern Cross" rather a snoozefest. "Looking for that Woman-girl"? Yeesh.
-
Proxy of Alicat, Scorpions. Oh those wacky Germans. Das metal ist gut!
-
Not so lucky, actually: TP found you.
-
As predicted: Asia again. WOS again.
"and now you find yourself in '82
the disco hot-spots hold no charm for you"
But a dance tune or two would be infinitely better than prog dreck, Bob.
-
BOS2 Seger, "Roll Me Away".
-
Steve Winwood - Valerie
Phil Collins - I Don't Care Anymore
Flock of Seagulls - I Ran
Billy Squier - Everybody Wants You
Roxy Music - Avalon
Crosby, Stills & Nash - Southern Cross
Scorpions - No One Like You
Tom Petty - You Got Lucky
Asia - Heat of the Moment
Bob Seger - Roll Me Away

I'm not sure Eric Prydz's "Call on Me" got any airplay in the U.S. outside of its gyms. :)

I coulda gotten behind that one. Played a lot of Squier in the dorms that year, and really LOUD, too, of course.

You've never listened to Energy 92.7 in SF (or any other "dance" station -- guess NYC doesn't really have one).
