Monday, 3/30/09: 1995:
Natalie Merchant -Carnival
Alanis Morissette -Hand In My Pocket
Dave Matthews Band -Ants Marching
T.L.C. -Waterfalls
Bush -Comedown
Del Amitri -Roll To Me
Montell Jordan -This Is How We Do It
Elastica -Connection
Madonna -Take A Bow
Would that Dave'd play the Montell Jordan or the TLC -- those scream "1995" to me.
-
Only song there that I really need to hear is the Elastica, which seems to have dropped off everyone's radar. Other than that, not so much.

Yeah, I loved that one when it came out. "Car Song," too.

is that the one based on Wire's Three Girl Rhumba (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75-0qIgZjXs)? yeah, good one

Connection is the Elastica song that borrows liberally from the Wire tune, I think.

Tuesday 3/31/09: 1981:
Styx -The Best Of Times
Kim Carnes -Bette Davis Eyes
Moody Blues -Gemini Dream
Squeeze/Paul Carrack -Tempted
Blue Oyster Cult -Burnin' For You
Pointer Sisters -Slow Hand
Hall & Oates -You Make My Dreams Come True
Rick Springfield -I've Done Everything For You
Blondie -Rapture
Kudos on the Rick Springfield -- a wonderful single and a nice alternative to hearing "Jessie's Girl" for the billionth time -- and the Pointers. The rest of the set was strictly from Moreyville.

Didn't Sammy Hagar also do I've Done Everything For You? Not sure which came first--could have been Sammy's, now that I think about it.

It was on this album which I had in high school:

and this album didn't come out until I was in college:

Stevie Wonder -If You Really Love Me
Who -Won't Get Fooled Again
Marvin Gaye -What's Going On

Thurs 4/2/09, 1988:
Taylor Dayne -Don't Rush Me
Van Halen -Finish What Ya Started
Milli Vanilli -Girl, You Know It's True
Bon Jovi -Born To Be My Baby
Johnny Hates Jazz -Shattered Dreams
Beach Boys -Kokomo
Duran Duran -I Don't Want Your Love
R.E.M. -It's The End Of The World As We Know It
Michael Jackson -Man In The Mirror
WOW -- compare and contrast to Dave's '88 snoozefest yesterday. Even a surefire WOS like "Kokomo" is more interesting than hearing Crowded House for the umpteenth time.
-
The Bon Jovi and Duran^2 tunes are utterly forgotten amid their respective catalogs. Nice work. And Taylor could be a great Dayne at times.

and allegedly Dee Snyder's beard -- or was it the other way around? (her real name: Leslie Wunderman. Just a nice Jewish lesbian from LawnGuyland!)

Dee Snyder is a gay? allegedly? That's pretty twisted, sister. :P :P
I hope to hear I Wanna Rock in a 1984 set at some point.

It's a rumor, mainly based on the fact that Snyder and Taylor Dayne "dated" and she is by all accounts a major dyke.
