Title: Austin "Bob", 3/20/09: 1992
Post by: RGMike on March 20, 2009, 07:31:37 AM
I switched over here since Rob's doing '89.  '92 wouldn't normally thrill me but DAMN! they're playing Vanessa Williams' lovely "Save the Best for Last" -- one of the best ballads of the last 25 years, easily. (and it was the #1 song on this date in '92) This makes my day -- seriously.

Simply Red -Stars
Ozzy Osbourne -Mama, I'm Coming Home
Technotronic -Move This
Van Halen -Right Now
Cure -Friday I'm In Love
Heights -How Do You Talk To An Angel
Right Said Fred -I'm Too Sexy
Guns N' Roses -Live and Let Die
Vanessa Williams -Save The Best For Last

Looking at their previous lists, it looks like maybe they end every set with "the #1 song on this date in..."

And other than the Cure and Right Said Fred, I don't think Dave's played any of the other 7 songs there in a '92 set.

BOS to Simply Red's "Stars," a song I'd simply forgotten about (though I loved it at the time - and I remember Mick singing it on a New Year's Eve broadcast that year).

it's a lovely song that completely escaped my notice (no SF airplay for that one in '92), and I didn't catch up with until 10 years later when I started listenimg to CG.
