Monday's off to a fine start, with an "Overture", no less.
-
crazy 'bout da la-la-la: BOS Stevie's "Cherie Amour".

-
BOS2 the Mighty Zep: communication is breaking down, and Percy's pants look like they're near the breaking point too...

Wow, BOS(3)FRA to Rod the Mod's version of "Street Fighting Man" (with Jeff Beck, I'm assuming). The right way to do an interesting Stones cover (David Clayton-Thomas, take note!)
ETA: Followed by the Stones they own damn selves, BOS4 "Honky Tonk Women"
-
Fogerty ain't no millionaire's son, y'all. But his son is.
-
OMFG! BOS5 the mighty Cowsills! Their "Hair" is a fright. Or at least the picture sleeve is.

BOS to the Cowsills, "Hair." Inspired, unusual choice - I wonder how they were recruited to do this. And undoubtedly the only instance of name-dropping a band that would take another 18 years to hit the Top 40 for the first time.
-
VHM ABB, the orig "Whipping Post"

As soon as the 5-D hit with "Aquarius", *everyone* was scrambling to record songs from Hair. I suspect there are any number of other people's versions in various vaults because the 'sills got theirs out first.
BOS6 Beatles (yay).

Kudos to Rob for pronouncing the Moog synth correctly (rhymes with vogue).
-
The Who - Overture - It's a Boy
Stevie Wonder - My Cherie Amour
Led Zeppelin - Communication Breakdown
Guess Who - No Time
Rod Stewart - Street Fighting Man
Rolling Stones - Honky Tonk Women
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Fortunate Son
Cowsills - Hair
Allman Brothers - Whipping Post
Beatles - Here Comes The Sun
A really superb '69 set from Bob -- and tomorrow, a theme set: famous trios for 3/3.
-
Hmm! A "special set" of great trios from Rob tomorrow, in honor of 03.03.09.

expect the Police. If he plays Peter Paul & Mary I'll scream like a 12-year-old girl at a Jonas Bros concert.
