Title: The Peak, 1/29/09: 1968!
Post by: Gazoo on January 29, 2009, 07:05:30 AM
I'm up at this hour b/c of a failed workout appt (the other guy flaked, not me).

WOS to start, though, with "Love Is All Around."  I always thought the Troggs too dumb for fun.

BOS votes for "Love Child" and "Time Has Come Today."

THCT leads into a Wild in the Streets clip - I really ought to rewatch that; any suggestions for a double-feature pairing?

I think we had this conversation before and I *highly* recommended Privilege -- a '60s must-see, IMHO.

Troggs Love is All Around
Rolling Stones Street Fighting Man
Diana Ross & the Supremes Love Child
Chambers Brothers Time Has Come Today
Simon & Garfunkel Mrs. Robinson
Blood , Sweat, And Tears I Can't Quit Her
Cream White Room
Byrds You Ain't Going Nowhere
Beatles Hey Jude
yardbirds Think About It

nicely played. and I disagree about the Troggs; "LIAA" is lovely, "Wild Thing" is a seminal record of the era and "With a Girl Like You" a lost gem. Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba-ba!
