WLNG plays one of the worst Xmas records evah: Lou Monte's "Dominic the Italian Christmas Donkey". I kid you not. As ethnic novelties go, it makes "Shaddap You Face" seem like The Godfather.

Bob Shannon just saluted the late Dennis Yost with "Traces". What a lovely bit of pop songwriting.

sappiness rules on WLNG: in the past half-hour we not only got (yikes) "You Light Up My Life" but also Richard Chamberlain's "3 Stars Will Shine" (the theme from Dr Kildare) and Henry Mancini's "Moon River".

Lawd! JJ on KPOO plays obscure-but-wonderful Chi-Lites, "Are You My Woman (Tell Me So)" and even-obscurer Eddie Kendricks, "If You Let Me", one of his pre-"Keep On Truckin'" solo 45s that failed to make the pop Top 40 in spite of reaching #17 R&B.

TANC: Ms. Ross' "Gettin' Ready For Love", which Casey played earlier, makes another appearance on JJ's show. Seriously, what were the odds of hearing that twice in 4 hours??

"Brand new start/Here's mah heart!"
