TANC, since I got to hear the Fifth Dimension's wonderful "If I Could Reach You" twice this weekend on the Kasemarathon: Judge plays the Marilyn McCoo version of "Saving All My Love For You", which pre-dates Whitney Houston's hit by 7 years! Very Very nice -- as a NYC deejay used to say whenever he played the 5D, "Marilyn McCoo... ah LOOOOVE you!"
-
Judge just dedicated Bob James, "Touchdown" to the Raidaz -- its the only TD they've had lately.
-
Judge closes out the afternoon with Candi Staten Island's classic "Victim".
-
Bob Shannon's "Behind the Hits" show on WLNG is saluting 1973 as a tie-in with the new ABC show Life on Mars. Big ol' Ruby Red Dress just made an appearance. Great production and fab backing vox. Leave me! Leave me!
and one of my faves, "Stir it Up" -- is there a better sexual metaphor than "I'll push the wood/And light the fire"?

Wow -- cool rarity: Lou Johnson (a Jerry Butler soundalike), the orig version of "Reach Out For Me", later a hit for Dionne Warwick.
-
Checking out KCDX for a hour or 2: Mink Deville just took a "Spanish Stroll" and met Brewer & Shipley on "Tarkio Road"! It's a MUTHA!
-
NTM on 'LNG: the Ruby & the Romantics version of "Hey There Lonely Boy", aka Eddie Holman's "HTL Girl".
Followed by Dawn's "Candida", as glorious an hommage to the Brill Building as ever there was.

All Sonny & Cher need is you, hawn-ey!

-
OMFG! 'LNG plays "Sweet William", Millie Small's soundalike follow-up to "My Boy Lollipop".
-
Lawd! Joe South's "Walk a Mile in My Shoes" has made my afternoon.

Jefferson's fab forgotten OHW, "Take Me in Your Arms".
