I really hate the political ads KBCO runs.  Heavily on the conservative side - I don't know Colorado geography; is KBCO trapped in Biblevania?

actually -- as I commented last week -- we've been hearing a LOT of hard-hitting ads for Obama on 'BCO, really nailing McCain. That was the first pro-McCain ad I've heard them play. Guess they're getting scared.

But Boulder ain't that far from Colo. Springs, the right-wing Christian capital of the West.  Have you ever read fast Food Nation?

I've had the opposite experience - I haven't heard any of these pro-Obama ads, and have heardseveral local-race ads with a simple TAXES IZ BAD message.

John's only #1 hit in the '70s.  There is something massively wrong with that.

Finally something I can BOS: one of my very favorite Stones songs.  The guitar work blows me away, as does its interplay with the piano.

Really?  I didn't know that!   ::)  Just amazing to me that it was that and not, say, "Imagine."

I'd've thought the Jorma was a fave of yours.  But indeed, this is a post-Main Street highlight of '70s Stones.

in retrospect, it is quite amazing that "Imagine" peaked at #3, when Macca was having one #1 hit after another throughout the decade. Silly love songs sell better than politics.

VHM Burt Reynolds in the orig Longest Yard.

Speaking of Reynolds, I saw Harold Reynolds doing color on TBS's Sunday baseball this week -- someone actually hired him after his ESPN debacle?

My mother bought the Stones'  "It's Only Rock And Roll" LP for me back in 74, but I didn't like rock back then (my mother was so much cooler than me.. still is) and I think I sold it for a dollar at a garage sale.

... and in keeping with that streak, my older brother gave me Aerosmith's "Rocks" album which I traded for a Bay City Rollers' record.

good Stones song

America loves a good forgiveness story; ya just gotta lay low long enough.  If Marv Albert can work again, so can Harold Reynolds.
