appropriately, given current events, we begin with "Black Friday".
-
EJ + BJK = "Freedom"! BOS to a glorious single, one of those rare 45s that reversed course and moved back up on the chart after beginning its descent.
-
another B-day nod for Broooce: BOS2 "10thAF-O"
-
Then I knew, in the crystalline knowledge of BOS3.
-
BOS4 the Mighty Zep, "Down by the Seaside" with Percy in a Speedo!
-
Levi lays Bristol down -- she took his ring, took his babies.

Holy Flaming Mother of Pop Argot! BOS5 and proxy of Gaz, JS "Play on Love"! A def BOW contendah.
-
WOS "Sweet Emotion", I remain baffled as to how this got to be one of the most-(over)played tracks on Classic Rock radio.
"Fast-talkin' mama with a face like a gent", meet the dude who looks like a lady.
-
BOS6 and proxy-of-Gaz 2: GFR, "Bad Time". One of Bob's best sets in ages.
-
and we close, bombastically, with ELO. VHM "Fire on High". Kudos, Bob!
Steely Dan - Black Friday
Elton John - Philadelphia Freedom
Bruce Springsteen - Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out
Fleetwood Mac - Crystal
Led Zeppelin - Down by the Seaside

I never knew this - do you mean, it went to #1, dropped, then rose again; or it charted, slipped, then resurged and became a #1?
So sorry to have missed the JS, GFR, and LZ tracks. (And Mshray, to have missed your call.) But I needed my beauty sleep.

No, just a similar situation to Elvis' "Way Down". "Philly" had been #1, it began falling, dropped out of the Top Ten... and then moved back up a few notches for a couple weeks, after word got out that it would NOT be on his forthcoming LP.
