a year with great potential, even for someone with a spotty '80s record like Bob.
Percy starts with "Little By Little".
-
BOS1 Fogerty's "RnR Girls", shufflin' off to Buffalo.
-
ooo! BOS2 Sade -- "Smooth Operator" is a surprise coming from Bob.
-
Say what you will about the concept of wine coolers (hey, I drank them sometimes in college), those Bartles & Jaymes ads were an incredibly effective campaign.

True dat - BOS from me. Amazing songwriting, pristine singing, beautiful appearance, and a sledgehammer for me as well. Sade's got it all.

Here come Knopfler singin' oldies, goldies.

she had the best "porn star mouth" since Carly Simon...

I know Bob meant no offense, but going from the MOVE house-bombing into a clip of "Some Like It Hot" was beyond tacky.
-
VHM U2; BOS3 T.Heads. "Little pee-pee, little toes".

that reminds me of a real-life accidental segue from my radio days: Our top story in a newscast was a tenement fire in which 6 children died. Cut to a then-popular commercial for Solarcaine (the sunburn ointment) in which the first sounds were a child's voice saying "Mommy! Mommy! I feel like a french fry!" Swear. To. God. We were mortified.
WOS Heart, entering the Diane Warren era.
-
I'm disagreeing with Mike on the Heart - I think this is some great power-balladry, and it definitely sends me back to that summer, when I was at the local community swimming pool (since closed) every single day.
Trivia: Mickey Thomas and Grace Slick sing backing vox on this.
-
Power Station's completely unnecessary remake of "Bang a Gong" -- not quite a WOS but fairly worthless.
-
BOS2 to "This Is Not America," a phrase that echoes all too frequently during this presidential-run-up soap opera.
-
BOS4 Bowie/Metheny.
-
BOS5 JCM, "ROTS". One of Bob's better '80s efforts, all things considered.
-
BOS3 to JCM's finest moment, "Rain on the Scarecrow." Righteous anger goes a long way with me.
