LOL!  I'd put the orig (Tim Hardin) and the Bobby Darin version ahead of Seger's too.

I'll have to chk out Four Tops' version, but I thought Seger's was pretty noice.   Small Faces do a cover of it that's not bad, too...  great song for Steve Marriot's voice.

BOS2 and proxy of Gaz: Todd.  This is one Katrina I have no problem with -- one of the great pop singles of the '70s

regarding Dave Morey's uninspired 80s and 90s 10@10s:

so ten years from now, I fear we can hear Dave's 2007 10@10's contain the predictable slices of music that I lump together into the Dave Matthews/Hootie & the Blowfish/Jack Johnson school of crap rock. (to be fair, there are some songs by DM and JJ that I don't even mind -- not Hootie, though, they suck all the time).

I like KFOG's playlist maybe 50% of the time, but they play a lot of music that I find tedious.

ok, back to 1972:

always nice to hear Todd...

Yep.  You're preaching to the choir here.  No one will disagree.

Even about the Todd.

I can't for the set that features Feist, Corrinne Bailey Rae, Colbie Caillet, Sara Bareilles (or however she spells it) and 6 other women who sound just like them.

VHM ELP.

so less colbie/corrine and more Patti, Janice, is what you're saying?  speaking of lady rockrrzzzz, I saw Joan Jett at the Marin County Fair a couple weeks back.  She's still got it, even if it's been scaled back to a county fair level.

Popcorn - HM - just for its synthiness

I called in my BOS for ELP, told Dave that was the funniest clip edit ever, and after he thanked me for noticing I asked him to reprise it at the end.  "I...[chuckle]...dunno...we'll have to see."

If you look at the main page you'll find a link to the "Shraytabase" (a term coined by Urth, not me) which is a Db I've been maintaining of setlists going back to 2000.  It's only about 70% complete up to April 2004, but it has every set since then.

Anything that appears in over 20% of sets for that given year is my definition of a Katrina.

Part of that clip was some guy shouting, "Somebody DO something!"  which I have heard countless times over the years in various audio montages...and now I know where it came from.

A Katrina isn't necessarily a "bad" song.  Just one that shows up more frequently than not.  No Sly haters here, I don't think.
