Also new to me: solo David Ruffin, circa '75: "Wild Honey" (NOT the Beach Boys tune). And it's followed by MJ's "Just a Little Bit of You".

uh, and I don't think you're reading too much into the lyrics.  Has he ever been busted for statutory?

"Gary Puckett and the Generation Gap"

"and she's yearning, yearning, yeeeeeeeaaaaaaarning to liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive!"

when she cries "a single tear... a teardrop that was sweet and warm..." -- that's easily as icky as any of the male deflowering songs we've discussed over the years (Bobby Goldsboro, etc.).

well, during 10@10 today, I had a 1984-themed avatar, but once that was over it seemed kinda creepy.  I imagined him turning into a simple bubble, and I just remembered getting some shots of some artwork by an old high school friend of my wife's.  We're preparing for our 40th anniversary reunion this summer.  Anyhoo, all these art pieces are circular, so I thought it would be cool.  The title of this one is called Retro Yin Yang, and is 8" across.  If I was clever enough, I could do an animated gif and have it be kind of a gallery show!

Greg on CGSS goes obscure-'60s on yo' ass: Chuck Wood, "7 Days is Too Long", Gloria Jones' orig version of "Tainted Love" and what sounds like Mitch Ryder doing "We Gotta Break Out", which is new to me.

and he follows that by jumping into the '90s with "Pump Up the Jam". Getcha booty on da floor tonite -- make mah day!

I was just about to bemoan the fact that we missed hearing Millie Jackson's "Ask Me What You Want" on the 6/24/72 AT40 (it dropped out of the 40 that week) -- and here it is on KPOO. Baby baby PLEASE!
