Title: KBCO, 5/7/08: 1997
Post by: RGMike on May 07, 2008, 09:00:06 AM
William Topley (who?) to start. Hoping for some of that extaordinary '97 pop. Hanson's out of the question, I'm guessing. But Chumbawumba, maybe.

I will BOS this, I think I *have* heard it before back in the day.

William Topley was the lead singer for The Blessing

I think this is another Ginger-only track; she's played it before iirc. But pretty dull stuff IMHO. '97 is one of the few '90s years that I find really interesting, but you'd never know it from what we've heard so far.

Another BOS for this obscure Van.  I liked the intro.

Ginger has a Van Morrison track for every '90s year, it seems (not her fault, really, he just churns 'em out).

Ben Folds really salvaged this for me, but I was hoping for "Your Woman", "Female of the Species", "Brimful of Asha" or something equally quirky/poppy. It was a good year for that.

OMG, Fiona Apple, "Criminal".  BOS2.

Maybe she can qualify as your "Female of the Species"?  (but I agree, that Space track would have been a good one to hear)
