nuthin' sadder than a week Bob begins and ends in the '80s.

1980 certainly means something from The Wall and something from Queen. Anything else is up for grabs. I'll guess the Iggles' "The Long Run" and REO Speeddealer's "Keep on Lovin' You."

don't forget Loggins. "I'm Alright" is the safe-for-AOR cheezefest everybody loves, meanwhile most of the interesting New Wavery of '80 will be ignored as usual.

I finally saw Caddyshack for the first time recently. Has its moments (most dumbass comedies do) but the love it gets in some circles is beyond me.

also inevitable: J&Y, starting over and over and over -- very close to a guilty displeasure for me.

I have too strong a period association with the song to ever feel that way. Though I know Mshray concurs with you.

WOS to whatever this AC/DC is. I truly cannot understand how people can listen to Brian Johnson's voice for any length of time. It's utter nails-on-chalkboard for me.

As I've said before, when it first appeared I found it silly and slight -- the '50s trappings seemed soooo 1978. But then, well, what happened happened and suddenly it became "iconic" thru no fault of its own.
BOS3FRA AC/DC.

I don't recognize what followed it -- "I could be good for you"?
