("Planes and Satellites" instead)

VHM Sonia Dada -- they were still making records in '95, tho most failed to notice.

And VHM Pierce Brosnan -- saw him the other nite in Married Life, a good little flick with Chris Cooper, Patricia Clarkson and Rachel McAdams that's worth catching up with when it hits DVD.

BOS Radiohead when they were good.

yep.

I half-expected someone to say "when are they NOT good?" Guess I really meant "... when they were far more accessable"

me too, but I'm really digging it.  Can't say Dave has ever played anything both new and good for us in a mid-90's set, can we?

Missed this, but I expect it would've been new to me too.  Filling an extra work shift today, listening to Del Amitri sound like late Crowded House.

HA -- I was just about to reply "well, he has played Del Amitri songs that are new to me" -- and speak of the Devil...

Dave may not know about that Wanderlust song, but he's got no excuse for never playing this...when he plays Sweet to death in '91.

Mostly because he's doughy and intelligent.

Eww, the Merchant of Menace wrecking the Stones.  I give her SFTD a STFU.

This may even be worse than the BS&T version ("pleased ta MEETCHU!"), which is saying something. Ugh. Razsty's head would explode.  WOS, needless to say

"Big Me" is pleasant enough, but nothing that any 17-year-old with a few guitar lessons under his belt couldn't have come up with.  I'm often surprised at how lauded the Foo Fighters are - nice, melodic rock, yes, but Grammy-worthy stuff?

Can't say it was *huge* but I remember hearing it quite a bit on the indie rock station in Sacto that year. Ditto this Foo Fighters song.

well that was a more-than-all-right '95 set (and I don't say THAT often).

Oh I heard it on Live 105 too, but I meant *literally* a hit single, and per Top40db it never made the Top 40.

Exactly how I feel about that band. And they've kind of morphed from a grunge-pop band into AOR arena rock.

is it not a "you survived the tragedy of losing your meal ticket friend Kurt so here's a bone" situation?

I thought that at first, but now that the FFs have lasted twice as long as Nirvana, a new explanation is needed ...
