Are you kidding? As long as her manager could convince someone that she was the next Colbie Feist whatever, they'd be falling all over themselves.
But that's sorta my point. She *didn't* sound like anybody else on the radio in 1979, and wasn't interested in being the "next" anybody. But Warners promoted her big-time. Now you pretty much have to sound like somebody who's already getting airplay.
