[crankypants] We could've done better than "Train in Vain" as a rep track from London Calling ... [/crankypants]

I was hoping in "Vain" for a little-played Clash track, but Bob's stuck on the "Train".

BOS to Macca and co., coming up like a flower.

ETA: Sounds like the studio version - I'm accustomed to hearing the live.

I *knew* you were gonna say that!  And I'll ditto the BOS. Closest to "pop" we're gonna get from Bob, i'll wager.

VHM Romantics -- overplayed but still joyous.  One of the most beloved non-Top 40 hits ever.

Always amazing to me that "What I Like About You" missed the Top 40.

ETA: Top 40 JINX!

we're scary today.  But that's what I like about YOU!

Pop radio was a mess in '80 -- Top 40 stations were dying, and trying to appeal to middle-aged housewives with Air Supply, Kenny Rogers, etc. 3 years later "WILAY" woulda been (with MTV's help) a Top 10 single, easily.

BJ's line about driving drunk wasn't funny even before he actually, y'know, did it.

If I'm not mistaken, Bob has actually played "Half Breed" -- I know he's played "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves".
