from my cousin: "why in the name of all that is holy?!?!?! although, the sweet baby james one was damn good and i couldn't help but let out a guffaw"
which reminds me - i had another quote i wanted to post today. my mother just returned from hawaii, where she spent the week with like-minded church ladies. she said, "it took me awhile to learn how to say "thank you," but at least i wasn't as bad as the woman who kept saying, "mahalia!"

That's fucking genius. Funny stuff, AND the tie-ins to the steroid and Novak-leak issues are marvelous.

okay, now I see why I appreared so clueless on the Drive 10@10 this morning, it's cuz I didn't catch on to this thread yesterday.
but OMG this is funny stuff. I loved the Igy Pop, T Rex, Simon & Garfunkel, Frampton & JT.
oh, and the Geto Boys.

i think the playin' possum is my favorite of the day. i can only handle one page a day, though.

BTW, Jon Carroll's column about the Schaivo case today is Just. Fucking. Brilliant.

Thank you for calling it to my attention. It is, indeed, spot on and very well written -- even above Carroll's usual fine standards.
And I can't help but bring up -- on the topic of political grandstanding -- Jeb Bush's attempt to rediagnose poor Terri:
http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/03/23/schiavo/index.html
Most unbelievable quote ever:
The Rev. Patrick Mahoney, who has been speaking on the Schindlers' behalf, challenged Florida Senate President Tom Lee.
"Let it not be said that Terri was starved with a Republican majority in the [state] House, the Senate and the Governor's Mansion," he said.

"Bitter? Do I sound bitter? Oh no, I'm just pointing out the foibles of our endlessly amusing...
OK, I'm bitter"
I haven't quite used up the funny headlines in my book, but when I do run out of those, the next quote I'm gonna steal is Jon Carroll's.
