BOS to the Pretenders' last great gasp, the criminally ignored "Night in My Veins."  (I understand why "I'll Stand By You" was the hit, but thought it inferior.)

Diito -- great tune. I love Chrissie when she goes in for rough trade.

I was about to say!  I've had a few friends insist to me that it's one of the most profound films they'd ever seen, but when I finally saw it, I was ... well, "meh."

With their tanks,
And their bombs,
And their bombs,
And their guns,
The Cranberries garner a WOS both for their lyrics and Dolores's annoying yodelflection.

for some reason thirtysomethings discovered it on cable and have watched it over and over (it didn't really do all that well theatrically, despite Oscar noms). It is a puzzlement.

AAAAACK! Cranberries in your head -- WOS2 "Zombie".

Then again, between the Cranberries and Toad the Wet Sprocket, this is exactly what my dining hall sounded like in 1994.  All that's missing is Sideshow Bob.  And Erasure's "Always," a left-field hit that spring.

VHM Martin Landau -- Ed Wood really *is* a great film from that year.  And Mr Burton has topped himself with Sweeney Todd.
