BOS Freedy Johnston and his bad rep.
-
BOS to the Pretenders' last great gasp, the criminally ignored "Night in My Veins." (I understand why "I'll Stand By You" was the hit, but thought it inferior.)

I was about to say! I've had a few friends insist to me that it's one of the most profound films they'd ever seen, but when I finally saw it, I was ... well, "meh."

Proxy of Cairo for Jeff Buckley's "Last Goodbye."

With their tanks,
And their bombs,
And their bombs,
And their guns,

for some reason thirtysomethings discovered it on cable and have watched it over and over (it didn't really do all that well theatrically, despite Oscar noms). It is a puzzlement.

another BOS for James' fabulous orig version of "Laid". One of the truly great singles of the '90s IMHO.
-
VHM Martin Landau -- Ed Wood really *is* a great film from that year. And Mr Burton has topped himself with Sweeney Todd.
