BadCo can't git enuf. But BOS The Guess Who, "Star Baby".
-
But can you put your hands in your head? Oh, no.
-
Actually, I wish Brenda Lee WAS comin' on strong. "Rockin Around the Xmas Tree" for the umpteenth time would be preferable to "Radar Love" for the umpteenth time.
-
BOS2 Mr Buffet's lovely "Come Monday (It'll be Xmas Eve)".

It is sounding nice today. But I'm placing my Xmas bet on Elton's "Step Into Christmas."

released in '73, no? See my post in the Peak '83 thread -- I emailed Rob and he was most apologetic.

Indeed -- a true pop-cultural relic. He was a quite the folk hero back then.
-
Mainline Florida -- o-TAY! Actually Slowhand was mainlining something a lot stronger. But at least it ain't "Muthaless Chilluns"

Did you know that RATCT was written by Johny Marks, who also wrote "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer*" & "Santa CLaus Is Comin' To Town" & "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" among many others
*actually for Rudolph he only wrote the music, his brother-in-law had written the poem 8 years earlier as part of his job for in-store promotions at Macy's, but that's how Marks got started.

On one level, the song is clearly a non-rock'n'roll songwriters attempt to use rock as a then-new buzzword and create a for-the-moment holiday hit. All thru HS & college I thought RATCT was a hopelessly hokey '50s relic. But it's now one of my top 5 all-time Xmas classics. Love the intro, love the guitar, fabulous production, and Little Miss Dynamite sure could sell a lyric.
Imagine the royalties Marks' estate has raked in over the year$$$$$$...
