BOS Trio! Uh-huh.
-
Awwww... CSN gets "wasted". Sweet and lovely, VHM.
-
I emailed Ginger thanking her for playing this, hoping there aren't too many cranky Denverites who will complain.
-
Ginger grabs XTC's biscuits. Mandy Moore, of all people, covered this a few years ago.
-
"Memories... you're talking about MEMORIES!" Blade Runner, which is being re-issued yet again in yet another new "director's cut".

I've got the last director's cut, but iirc there is very little bonus material. I bet they have a 25th anniversary edition with lots of docu features. If the director's cut itself is going to be different can you point me to where you heard about it?

BOS2 REM "Gardening at Night" -- sounds like a great sexual euphemism to me.

Yeah, I'm sure Mike Stipe's pulled a worm or two out of the ground ...
-
BOS REM, as always.

it either played or will play soon at the Castro ( I read about it on some film site or other) -- presumably it will appear on DVD after it makes the rounds of revival theaters.
AAAAACK! MAW are inescapable!

Holy Cow! BOS (& maybe of the week) The Monroes!

JEEZUS! Are any of those actually, y'know, good?
OMGWTFLOL!!! The Monroes!!! One of the GREAT lost singles of the '80s. Best of Week!

Holy Cow! BOS (& maybe of the week) The Monroes!
I just checked Amazon -- somebody's selling the vinyl 5-song EP that this appeared on (their only release) for $297.69!!

New to me. Grand stuff. But Best of Week for me is still Manassas. (Speaking of which, this live performance is even better, with the added percussion: http://youtube.com/watch?v=PlNT5w7Mjmo)

WOS the 'oo -- maybe their worst single, IMHO. And I don't enjoy saying that.
-
proxy of cairo to that sexy voice.

one review says: "It must be said, these are first-rate karaoke versions. If Mandy Moore wants to be the Eva Cassidy for a new generation, she still has a ways to go. I hope she makes it."

Well, I do give her props for ballsiness/stupidity. She's made some good acting choices too, most notably Saved.

BOS4 T-Bone Burnett, speaking of oddball covers!
-
HM to T-Bone Burnett - kind of an unusual sound for him, no? Almost a recursion to the Trio that led off the set.
-
I suspect Ginger has just made Mark's week with "Somebody's Baby."
-
BOS5 Spicoli! BOS6 "Somebody's Baby"! Jackson shoulda been Oscar-nommed for this tune. This is the best '82 set in ages.

you're off a bit. the Mr Hand/Jeff Spicoli bit did, but the J Browne is not that enticing.
The talent assembled for Fast Times... is still astonishing to me. More on that later.

Mike's comment clarifies who my comment should have been directed at. My flawed memory, as usual.

agreed.
I'm fixin' to hit you guys with a bunch of FT@RH trivia, but here's one for free. Before Sean Penn met Madonna he had already been briefly engaged to the sister of a major rock star, whom he met on the set of FT@RH? She had a minor part as one of the two lead actresses' classmates.
