I'm hoping for Edwyn Collins. And dreading Alanis More-upset.

I'm hoping for Edwyn Collins.
Holy crap! Right off the bat! Ginger, I love you!!!
ETA: BOS, needlless to say.

Wow, nice job! Quick, hope for some other stuff & see if that comes true right off as well.

I was about to hope for no DMB but... too late. WOS another Matthews snoozefest.
Actually I'd like to hear "Waterfalls", but that's more likely to show up in the Cheeze Medley. What was the name of that Smoking Popes song from '95?
-
WOS2 Alanis. BOS2 Clueless, one of the great comedies of the '90s. Too bad about Alicia Silverstone's career.
-
John Lee Hooker with... Santana? New to me.

Ginger's just messing with you now.
I have mixed feelings regarding the Alanis. I like that she at least put her eccentricities out in full view and was rewarded for it, but some of that is just cringeworthy. Video was omnipresent during a serious low point in my life, the late summer and fall of 1995, and I suppose I'll always associate the song with that rough period.
Too bad Ginger got, um, chickenshit about playing the obscenity.
-
Always lovely to hear Annie, but "Train in Vain" wasn't among the best of her Medusa covers.

"eccentricities" -- I dunno. Vocally, she's just damned annoying, and her style seems like quite an affectation to me.
VHM Annie L, tho' I prefer Dwight Yoakam's cover of "Train in Vain".
-
VHM Better Than Ezra, jus because I haven't heard this since '95, I don't think.
-
I can give a BOS to Better Than Ezra. Wasn't sure where Ginger was going with that story, but now I get it.
-
Chri Isaak's "BDABBT" in the year of its orig release.
-
BOS2 to my favorite Radiohead song, "High & Dry."
(I missed BOS1, the Edwyn Collins, which upon release I initially mistook for a David Bowie return to form.)

TANC: Ginger mentioned that some people thought it was Bowie at first!
I'll VHM Radiohead, certainly their most radio-friendly track.
wow, a Freddy Jones Band song that isn't "In a Daydream"
-
I've never heard of Freddy Jones or his "Waitress." Interchangeable with a lot of mainstream rock of the period, I suppose.
-
WOS3 Braveheart. And an Unguilty Displeasure to Ms McLachlan, the flip side of Alanis and in some ways just as annoying.
-
Nothing I can give an unquivocal vote for but tentative BOS to Sarah Mclachlan.
I have little use for Alanis's music, but I thoroughly enjoyed her 'acting' turn as God in Kevin Smith's Dogma. (I qualify 'acting,' since she really didn't have to deliver any lines.)

I'm with you on Dogma, a movie in my all-time top 25.

And Ginger reiterates this fact. Is she cribbing us while on the air? :)
