Judge is not feeling very creative today -- even tho' he was live in-studio for the first 2 hours, we've segued to his endless Prince marathon. Enjoyable, yes, but this is the third time in six weeks.

Maybe he has a day job now, so he takes a long lunch for the first couple hours of his shift, then plugs an MP3 player on shuffle into the board and lets it finish the show? (But yeah, he could toss up the featured artist a little more often. We heard that live Commodores set how many times earlier this year?)

This Prince thing is literally the same songs in the same order for 2 HOURS.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday we go from "Grey Seal" as the 10@10 Bonus to "Philly Freedom" on KCDX. Elton is everywhere!

Never noticed the similarities between Rare Earth's "Born to Wander" and Grand Funk's "Shinin' On" before.
-
Joanie Sommers wants a brave man, a cave man. Just how Angry do ya want Johnny to get, Joanie? Careful what ya wish for. And are those kazoos? or combs wrapped in toilet paper?
-
ooo-wee-ooo! The Chiffons' "I Have a Boyfriend", one of Little Steven's all-time girl-group faves.
-
Hot Butter, "Popcorn"! Everybody Mambo!
-
Anne Murray wants to sing you a "Love Song". Awww.....
-
'LNG gives us Helen Reddy's hit cover of "Peaceful" -- lovely despite the watered-down lyrics.
-
Extra! Extra! 'LNG plays Barbra! "The Main Event" -- haven't heard this in decades.

So I was in a Country mood, and I found KTFW (Ft Worth) and so far so good: Kenny Rogers and what sounds like the orig of "Ruby Don't Take Your Love to Town" (a lot of stations play the re-made version from his solo days). "For god's sakes, turn around!"
OMG! Buck Owens!

Best juxtaposition ever: Loretta Lynn's "Don't Come Home A-Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)"... followed by a commercial for new "Love'n'Touch K.Y."

CG plays TTD's great "If You Let Me Stay". Why this flopped as a US single is one of the '80s great mysteries.

and it's followed by the PSB's, "Heart", also a big UK hit that didn't do nearly as well over here.
-
ooo! the Billy J Kramer version of "Do You Want To Know a Secret?"
-
Even tho' his show is 75% dance music; CGSS Greg's Nugget o'the Day is Otis, "Mr Pitiful". Gotta love them horns!
-
OMFG! Nu Shooz, "I Can't Wait" -- who'd'a thunk a white couple from Oregon could make one of the best black records of 1986?

Useless trivia: The PSBs offered that song first to Madonna, who rejected it.
Agreed on the TTD; they could/should have re-released it after "Wishing Well" took off.

new to me on KPOO: Calvin Arnold, "Ain't That a Funky Way to Treat Somebody".
