I don't think Dave's ever played this particular Crapton, not that that's a comfort.  What is it with Slowhand's obsession with motherlessness?

That's an old blues standard, which he'd been playing for decades but hadn't recorded until Back to the Cradle.  I like Clapton when he plays pure blues.  I got tired of him playing pop/rock, but he's still a great bluesman in my book.

FWIW, here are the egregious Katrinas when Dave visits this year:

Dawn Penn - You Don't Love Me (No, No, No)
Seal - Prayer For The Dying
Sheryl Crow - Leaving Las Vegas

and especially

Weezer - Buddy Holly

LOL!  for the Crash Test Dummies parody.  Guess Marcus isn't playing "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" today.

Not "Streets of Philly"?

I'd give anything to hear Ini Kamoze's "Hotstepper". He's da lyrical gangsta.

I haven't heard this before, and I kinda like it, but I dunno, this borrows heavily and obviously from "Once In A Lifetime".  I give it a BOS for novelty but a WOS for self-plagiarism.  I'd wager Gaz would only give it the latter.

nope, Dave has only played that twice in 6 trips, which is borderline to be sure, but his lack of creativity in 1994 is astonishing.  The first 3 songs have popped up 4 out of 6 (and I forgot to include Beck's "Loser" in that list), and "BH" a whopping 5 for 6.  Three other tunes (incl. CTD) are 3 for 6.

"SoP" is a virtual rarity in that context.

VHM from me, but BOS to "Bang and Blame," from REM's unfairly maligned Monster.  Painfully easy to find that disc at Amoeba for $0.99.

What was the Cake track?  I missed it.

BOS5 REM, "Bang and Blame" -- or as the Live 105 traffic chick (I'm blanking on her name) used to say, "here's a song about Alex Bennett's sex life".

Which KFOG completely ignored at the time; they added it to the library years later (though they rarely play it, even now).

Yep--and likely that Big Rick and Powers play it far more than Dave or Annalisa.
