Holy flaming mother of god!  Traffic, "Many a Mile to Freedom" -- can't remember the last time I heard this; it didn't even get that much radio play back in the day. BOS4 and Kudos to Ginger!

Heard this all over the radio--even top 40--circa 71-72. Great take on George's classic.

It just kinda came in on the vocal, without the guitar intro -- dunno if that was a single edit or a technical screw-up on Ginger's part.  A friend who I trust (he has no reason to lie) says he used to see Richie in the bars in the West Village, circa late '70s/early '80s.  I have his autobio on my to-read pile, but I'm guessing he doesn't address the issue.
