CBS-FM's Bob Shannon just played, "from the category of: 'song titles that rhyme with the artist's name'", "Oh Sherrie" by Steve Perry.
other examples?

Meanwhile, over on KPOO, Judge just played a soul cover of Todd Rundgren's We Gotta Get You A Woman. WTF?!?!?!?!

Missed it -- the 4 Tops version, I'm guessing?

Probably--missed the backsell, so I can't say for sure. And AMG doesn't list that version at all--they just have Todd's original and one cover by--Joe Walsh?!?!?
-
The O'Jays' slave-ship saga, "Ship Ahoy" -- would make a nice seg with "Sail Away".
-
Hoo Lawd! Gladys' version of Bill Withers' "Who is He/She and What is He/She to You?" Dad-gummit!
-

Judge's comment: "that sounds like my kinda party, but Gladys ain't havin' it..." LOL!
-
Judge loves him some First Choice! "Smarty Pants", lookin' for romants, er, romance.
-
"Pin the tail on the Donkey"??? Dunno who that faux J-5 tune was, but it was great. "one day the tail'll be pinned on you" -- LOL!
-
ooo! one of my fave Dramatics tracks, "Get Up, Get Down", not to be confused with the Martin Mull disco parody of the same name.
-
WLNG Nugget o' the Day: Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood, "Jackson" -- hotter'n a pepper sprout!
-
Nugget 2: BeeGees, "Love You Inside Out", a forgotten #1 Single if ever there was one.
-
Not just Nugget 3 but the OMGWTFLOL of the Week: Mac Davis, "Stop and Smell the Roses" -- I truly have not heard this in 30 years.

and it's followed by Cher, "You Better Sit Down Kids"! This has been a mind-blowing afternoon on 'LNG.
-
live version of Richard Thompson's Vincent Black Shadow, or whatever it's called! Great song!
-
CG update: in addition to the changes reagrding CGSS and Sweeney's Rock Show... Dean's Jukebox is going away, tho' he'll still be with the station, apparently. (last Jukebox tomorrow, 8/2/07)
It seems the station is undergoing a name change as well, as of Friday night -- no hint as to what the new name is.
-
New to me: "Morning Glory" by James & Bobby Purify -- this is what I'm gonna miss about Dean's Jukebox.
BTW, the new station name apparently is, simply, "Gold". Cue Spandau Ballet!
-
and Dean's Jukebox is undoubtedly the only place in the world where I can hear the Osmonds' "Love Me For a Reason" followed by the Waterboys' "Whole of the Moon".
-
It's Dean's Final CG Jukebox. Tears will be shed. And Stevie W's singing about undercover Fascists on the run!
-
WooHoo! the orig version of "Eloise"!
-
appropriate selection for a last show: John Miles' fabulously bombastic "Music" (an Alan Parsons production, iirc).

and it's followed by Dean's final song: ABBA's "Thank You For the Music". Awww....
-
WAAAY-obscure WLNG Nugget o' the Day: The Ohio Express, "Beg Borrow & Steal".
-
Expanded CGSS: the best thing about the "new" station that CG is morphing into. Alex O'Neal, "Fake". Patty, Patty!

So how's it been so far? Any discernible change in playlist? Or Greg's on-air personality, for that matter? I just tuned in, but it seems like he's reining in his rants and comments a bit.
And has he slipped and said "Capital Gold" at all?

It seems more music-intensive than before (and the new station slogan is "It's All About the Music"); song-wise it's been like CGSS's Greatest Hits, which is not to say anything's changed in a major way. Earlier someone requested the Staples' cover of "Slippery people" and he said he didn't have it -- I know he's played it before, so I'm not sure if that meant "it's no longer in the computer" or "I don't have it handy, and it's one I have to bring in from home" (which is true of a lot of songs he plays). But he's been good about saying "Gold" without the capital (The website hasn't changed yet).

Gary Ziep now playing Bread's Everything I Own--yet another band that was pretty huge in their time but I don't think has ever turned up in a 10@10 for the early 70s--at least not in a helluva long while.

Indeed, another band that Dave tends to avoid despite their having had 12 Top 40 singles in 7 years. Ironically, the Bread tune that has shown up most often was their lowest-charter (and only non-ballad), "Mother Freedom" (#37 peak). I think he's played "Guitar Man" once or twice.
Of course the Brits love "Everything I Own" -- it's been a UK hit THREE times: the orig in '72, a reggae version that hit #1 by Ken Boothe (who?) in '74, and the Boy George cover of the Boothe arrangement (also #1)in '87.

So, even though historically it should be included, perhaps the insipidness of Bread causes Dave to ignore them?

You're actually more right than you realize -- Dave is, I've always thought, afraid to be inundated with disgruntled Fogheads calling to say "why are you playing that wimpy-ass crap?" That's why we only ever hear that ONE Carpenters song. So unless he decides to get a bug up his butt about "rehabilitating" Bread (the way he once did regarding ABBA), we'll continue to hear "Mother Freedom" and not much else.

Yes, in the sense that when he first played ABBA, hard-core rock-loving Fogheads used to call up and complain -- ABBA songs used to routinely show up in HitsFromHell sets. But over time he got people to love ABBA.

Or maybe he just convinced the ABBA-lovers to come out, that it was OK to speak out about their ABBAphilia.
