my early BOS goes to Eurythmics, "Love Is A Stranger",

and now another to R.E.M. "Talk About The Passion".

Murmur remains one of my desert island discs.

Can we settle this once and for all?  Is it a DESERT island or a DESERTED island?  The former is far more common usage, but I'm convinced it's incorrect: the point is the lack of people around, not the lack of water.  I need to know this!    :?

PS: I hope I'm not being needlessly pedantic or ridiculous about this; it's something I've genuinely wondered about for a long time and have never gotten a solid answer.

It's DESERT island. Always has been.  You're overthinking again
