"Sufficiently Breathless" - Captain Beyond, first of what promises to be many BOS songs.
-
"Can You See The Real Me?" BOS #2, one of those where the Ox really lets fly.

We've heard this before from Ginger -- a total Narada to me; BOS for rarity alone.
BOS2 Woody, Diane & the Orgasmatron from Sleeper. Nice seg into "Let's Get it On"!

If this were KFOG we'd have surely heard John Cleese warn us that we were about to hear "something completely different" before Marvin started gettin' it on and beatin' around the bush. Still, BOS #3.

BOS3/proxy of c, the Dan, shinin' my Japan and sparkle'n' my China.

This was one of those lesser KSHE classics that I grew up with in StL.

D: I can't believe you haven't had sex for 200 years!
W: 204, if you count my marriage...

VHM Dylan, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid.

VHM "Brain Damage" -- I love the Austin Lounge Lizards' bluegrass cover of this.

I just focused on the fact the "Brain Damage" is not only an Alison, but arguably the biggest on of all, given the stature of the album.

Was kind of wondering how Ginger was going to come out of that one, since it kind of ends with the ultimate fadeout. I'd have thought she'd have saved it for the #10 slot. But instead we got a bumper, and and now we're sitting on One Man's Ceiling.

"One Man's Ceiling" is another deejay's '73 choice too (Dave played this in his most recent visit to this year). But BOS5 (Geils was 4) anyway.
-
see now this is a Narada for me. one last BOS for "...Ceiling".
-
Coulda done w/out the Joker, the smoker, the midnite toker.
-
Ah, it's that damn fool Maurice again, blathering on about pompatuses and shaking trees and such.

As I've mentioned often, this LP and Innervisions helped me thru '73, a difficult year. Played them to death. But I suppose Rhymin' Simon didn't get saturation radio play (except for the singles) outside of NY.

Oooo, Exorcist trailer. Tubular Bells next?
YES!!!
ETA: If Ginger played the extended version of this we'd be here until halfway thru Dave's set.
Btw, I was just reading a bio of John Peel, and learned that this album was the first release on Virgin Records, and was responsible for the entire success thereof. Huge hit overseas, and then it was picked up by Billy Friedkin for The Exorcist and did the same here.
-
ooooohh, final BOS for Mike Oldfield. I still love listening to the whole album-side version of this.

Ditto, one of the most out-there instrumentals ever to make the Top 40. Ginger's done a superb job this morning. Hope she's reading this -- I'll miss her sets these next 2 weeks.

Hmmm... I mentioned the Orgasmatron earlier. Pre-emptive win!
