Thanks one & all.  Had a nice day, too.  Did some necessary gardening & housekeeping in the a.m., then fielded a call from Gaz.  After a nice chat with him I piled the wife & kids in the car & hit the San Mateo coast for some tide-pooling & sand-castle-building.  Took the scenic route home up Pescadero Road to Skyline Drive & down Alpine Road into Palo Alto, which was pretty cool until Adrian & Gabriel each got carsick (sorry if TMI).  Then had dinner at Elephant Bar & returned to Castro Valley.  Had another 4 phone messages of b-day wishes which is certainly a new record.

LBNL, had an email from KFOG (signed by Dave) with an attached mpeg of the whole crew singing "Happy Birthday Dear Foghead".  Must be auto-generated, but still a nice touch.  We'll see what happens in the morning vis a vis my request.

let me add my salutations sir!  Yeah, Alpine Road is a bear indeed!  Reminds me of my motorcycle days.
