Title: The Peak, 05/25/07: It's 1977
Post by: Gazoo on May 25, 2007, 07:05:40 AM
Because my computer is set up to auto-fill fields where possible, I know that we were in 1978 one year ago today.

So Friday gets off to a somber start with "Alison."  This is no way to wake myself up.

This was supposed to be my last day at the Voice, and Ronnie's "Say Goodbye to Hollywood" would have been a nice parting note.  BOS anyway.

I'm early today, but not early enuf to catch Ronnie, unfortunately.  What a fabulous cover.  But OMG, it's Mink DeVille!!! BOS, but of course!  Lou Reed goes to Spanish Harlem.

followed by songs 9 & 10:

10:31 AM Steely Dan Peg
10:34 AM Dave Edmunds Juju Man

A classic only-from-Rob set, three NYC classics that are not on Dave's radar (or Ginger's or Bob's, for that matter) -- Jeffries, Spector, DeVille. Fab stuff.

"Was supposed to be"??? Did they convince you to stay longer, or did you get the early nudge out the door?
