A wretched... spiteful... straight-razor totin' TOTHC!!! BOS TJW.
Chomp. Chomp chomp.
-
"and now for something... completely different!"
BOS2 GuessWho, "These Eyes".
-
BOS: The godness on the mountaintop! (Which I just heard earlier this week on a Have a Nice Day comp!)
-
"a god-ness on a mountain top/
was singing pho-net-ic Eng-lish"
-
"a god-ness on a mountain top/
was singing pho-net-ic Eng-lish"
God-ness jinx! (And the phonetic English is even more glaring on the follow-up, "Mighty Joe," which I would love to hear Shakira sing.)
-
BOS2 Moodies. lovely to proxy for shray, my friend.

I may have asked before, but ever hear their "Never Marry a Railroad Man"? It may have been the flip of Venus; it got some NY airplay at the time.

Summer of '69 flashback (sans Bryan Adams): I didn't yet have an FM radio, and I spent many hours in the middle of the night listening to CKLW Detroit and WKBW Buffalo on my tinny, tiny transistor. And that's where I first heard "Marrakesh Express".
proxy of shray 2: "Two Hangmen".
-
I've never heard this hangmen song before. Nice to hear once, but I imagine it must be tedious to hear that and "Atlantis" back to back.

I never have. Hope I do, though.
VHM to the 5Ds for Coke. I have a secret fondness for the adult pop of the period that teeters toward Beautiful Music (wrong term?).
PS: This was post 5555 . . .

better yet, a My 3 Songs of this, "I Cheat the Hangman" and "Gallows Pole".
BOS3 5th Dimension for Coke! A great golden day indeed. and always a VHM for "Whole Lotta Love"
-
just got here in time for Zep, glad to see that Joe finally got to hear Mason-Proffit.
Thanks for the proxies!

indeed -- "beautiful music" is, as Don Pardo would say, strictly instrumental (plus choral stuff like Ray Coniff). In 1969, no Beautiful Music station woulda been caught dead playing the 5-D (too rock-n-roll!).

only when she uses KY.

This has been so good so far that I'm almost willing to forgive hearing Steam for the billionth time.
Almost.

Zep wins by the biggest margin I can recall:
Tony Joe White Polk Salad Annie 3.4%
Guess Who These Eyes 4.1%
Shocking Blue Venus 2.2%
Moody Blues In The Beginning & Lovely to See You 21.5%
CSN MarrakeshExpress 2.2%
Mason Proffit 2 Hangmen 6.0%
Led Zeppelin Whole Lotta Love 51.6%
Zombies Time of the Season 3.2%
CCR Fortunate Son 3.1%
Steam Na Na Hey Hey 2.7%

Me neither. And 21.5% for the Moodies would often be enough to win...not lose by 30.
