Title: The Peak, 04/11/07: 1980

Stellar set!  Co-BOS to lesser-played Beat ("Twist & Crawl") and RIDICULOUSLY lesser-played Stevie ("Master Blaster (Jammin')").  HM to Chrissie & Co.'s "Kid."  Worth catching the replay.

Damn! VERY sorry to have missed this one...

TheTeardrop Explodes - When I Dream
Bruce Springsteen - Hungry Heart
Rockpile - Teacher Teacher
English Beat - Twist and Crawl
Warren Zevon - A Certain Girl
Pretenders - Kid
Stevie Wonder - Master Blaster (Jammin')
The Brains - Money Changes Everything
Queen - Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Delta 5 - Mind Your Own Business

...especially the GREAT Teardrop Explodes, "When I Dream". I caught the last tune, Delta 5's "Mind Your Own Business", which was new to me. Best 1980 set in a dog's age. Kudos Rob -- hope I can get home in time for the replay tonite.

Just caught the replay -- that was one helluva set. Except for that final way-obscure song (which I quite liked), this was TOTALLY the way I remember 1980 sounding. Unlike the typical Morey set from this year, there was no mainstream AOR dreck here for "balance". Pretty much a 10-way tie for BOS.  Awesome.
