Figured this should have it's own thread. I'm home "sick" today and woke up at 7:45 to "Abacab". So I guess they started with "A" songs instead of omitting the "A" -- does that mean all the "The" songs will be together too?
"10 days at *least*..." sez Dave.

I awoke to Counting Crows' "A Cold Winter" around 7, and they made a big deal when they started playing song that started with actual words, not just the letter "A"--but then they found out that Abacab isn;t a word according to the dictionary--but they played it anyway.

A-to-Z gives me the blues:
"Blue Jean"... but NOT "Blue Jay Way"
"Blue Money"... but NOT "Blue Monday"
Hrm
-
another test...
"Saved" by A-to-Z: "Saved by Zero"... "Saving Grace"... and now we pause for 10@10.
-
They're "still" in the S's...
Still Got The Blues
Still... You Turn Me On

Too bad no "Still Waters" from the Four Tops in between!

More surprisingly, no "Still the Same" by Seger.

They don't like him. Also omitted "Ramblin', Gamblin Man" in between the obvious Zep & Allman's tunes.
-
"Still" indeed: after leaving off with the ELP tune last night; A-to-Z picks up this morning by playing it again... and of course we heard it in the '73 set earlier!
now Marley's steering, er, stirring, it up.
-
Got a dose of the Ws driving to and from the Sharks game; they left off with "Whip It", so A-to-Z will spill over into Monday's morning show.

and they picked up at 6 with "Whipping Post". And now they just realized they screwed up and left out a page of "Wh" songs so they've backtracked!
Is it me, or have there been far fewer "OMG" or "wow" songs this time around? in the hour-and-a-half of W's I heard yesterday afternoon, I heard exactly one mildly surprising song, 10cc's "Wall Street Shuffle". Everything else was typical KFOG rotation fodder. Granted, that covers a lot of territory (as evidence the fact that we're still in the Ws on day 12), but you know what I mean...

I dunno. I've heard a lot of stuff that's part of the regular rotation (or classic rock evergreens) but I've also heard a lot of songs that made me think "this may be in the library, but they NEVER play it outside of A-Z or 10@10." Case in point: Waterboys, Whole of the Moon, heard it around 8:20 this am.

I'm a bit dumbfounded by this incessant "yeah, yeah, we thought it would be over by now" chatter -- like they don't have A-to-Z down to a science by now.
"The S's and T's turned out to be more prolific than expected"? Wha?? Did they spontaneously start regenerating themselves? Come on.

But I'll be monitoring the W's, 'cause I don't wanna miss the all-important "X" song. What'll it be this time? "X-Offender"? "Xanadu"? Both?
-
nice semi-surprise: A3, "Woke Up this Morning", which got TONS of KFOG airplay when it was released; these days, notsomuch. Appropriate, what with The Sopranos returning Sunday.
"Won't Get Fooled" right around the corner, no doubt.

Yeah, that struck me as bullshit too--they know exactly how long each of these songs is, and they probably had them scheduled to play in a certain hour--or at most two-hour window. They knew it was going to run til today. That "10 day" stuff seemed like a red herring to me too, when they were still in the L's last Tuesday.

Hmmm... will we get BOTH versions of "Wooden Ships" here? CSN is up, hoping for the JA.
ETA: Nope -- we3nt from "Wooden" to "Woodstock". Betcha we don't get multiple versions of this either...
-
Jurassic-5, "Work it Out", which got minimal airplay as a current, iirc. Still sounds awfully un-KFOG to me.
-
WOO HOO! "X-Offender"!!! This made it all worthwhile.
-
Just got back from lunch and tuned in to see where they were. Nearly done: You Really Got Me, followed by You Wear It Well.
(You don't think they'll play Yummy Yummy Yummy (I Got Love in My Tummy), do ya?)

I would give them MAJOR kudos if they did! But no, not possible.
"You Wreck Me" isn't the last "Y"?
ETA: oops, forgot the "You're" and "You've" songs. (Hey, it's Monday.)
-
Surely we'll get the Beatles as well as this Eddie Vedder "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away"? (Not holding my breath for the Silkie).

Indeed, we do (or did).
Now it's Bowie, Young Americans. Bad Company's Young Blood next?

"Young Lust" sez Annalisa.

copping some zzzzzz's: Jon Butler Trio, "Zebra". I assume U2's "Zooropa" makes an appearance. Anything else?

yup, here's Ziggy and his god-given ass, preceded by the RHCPs "Zephyr".
-
"Zooropa" -- gotta be the last song. No "Zombie", much to my relief.

And now Zooropa, as predicted. Just as glad they took a pass on Dolores Cranberry's caterwauling.
