great song!

and it's a Fab Four Twin Spin!  JoJo gets back to some California grass. And Sweet Loretta Modern thought she was a woman, but she was another man -- there's a  doctoral dissertation on gender confusion in Macca lyrics, I tell ya.

Indeed, Bob isn't known for his segues, but that was an especially apt one.

My BOS, a truly underrated track.  Those big notes that open it knock me out.

Just curious, who underrates this song?  Perhaps I'm so deliriously happy every time I hear it, it never occurs to me that it's not universally loved.  Is it?

And I heard it somewhere in between both of you: Loretta Marden.

LOL! I had the same thought last nite, but was too lazy to post. It shows up on many greatest-singles-of-all-time lists, if I'm not mistaken.

Although I will say that in the Motown family, Jr Walker is not immediately thought of by the average person, who has Supes, Tempts, Tops etc to choose from. But I recently got a great JW anthology and it's a delight -- some of his "forgotten" hits (including follow-ups to "WDIT?" like "Gotta Hold On to this Feeling") are killer.

Poor word choice -- I was going for "unfairly forgotten."  Heard it a lot in Pittsburgh growing up, but very rarely in the years since.
